Sour Cream Enchiladas

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2012
Definitely a recipe to put in with the family favorites. I was surprised how amazing the sauce turned out. The thought of cream of chicken soup just didn't appeal to me but with the green chili's and sour cream it tasted like I really slaved to make the sauce. The only thing I did differently was added enchilada sauce with the chicken, cheese and onions. It really gave it a great kick and besides, how can it be enchiladas without enchilada sauce : )

German Rye Bread

Made this exactly as written and it is as good as it gets. I added caraway seeds because I think they take rye bread "over the top" goodness. The house smelled great for the entire day too!

Pumpkin Roll Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2011
I've been making these cake rolls for well over 25 years now and you don't need to grease the jelly roll pan. Just line it with wax paper and allow enough paper extending over the ends of the pan so you can use it for handles to lift the cake out. I also lift the pan up and slap it down on the counter several times to make the batter spread more evenly over the pan. After the cake is baked and lifted out of the pan, generously sift powdered sugar over it, then lay it on a linen dish towel (or pillowcase) and roll it all up together. I allow them to cool no more than an hour. If you allow it to get completely cold it will be more likely to crack when you unroll it. One more thing, do not overbake. I bake mine for 15 minutes @ 350F, no more, no less.

Red and Green Christmas Jalapeno Jelly

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2011
I'm not sure why other reviewers are having trouble with the peppers staying suspended in the jelly. I diced my peppers in a food processor and then placed two layers of paper towels in a colander and let it absorb some of the water. Also if your jelly doesn't set be sure that you use TWO packets of Sure Jell because the recipe calls for six ounces. One packet is only three ounces. I made two batches of this today and they both turned out perfect. I used red, orange and yellow for my bell peppers and also added a habanero to the jalapenos for each batch. I plan on making more of this, and soon! Very tasty and very easy recipe. I'm hooked.

Cottage Pudding (Cake for Strawberry Shortcake)

Made this exactly to the recipe and it was a hit. I'm going to make it as a sheet cake sometime and frost it with a strawberry glaze and then whipped topping. Should be awesome!

Tastes exactly like at the fair, and a whole lot cheaper! I put the leftovers in the freezer. I'll reheat them in the convection oven and see how it works. Thanks for a great recipe!

Garlic Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2011
I'll try just about anything that has garlic in it and this was so much better than expected. I'm accustomed to using fresh garlic in most recipes so I wasn't sure if garlic powder was going to give me the garlic flavor that I love so much. This was REALLY good! I made it exactly as written and will definitely be adding this one to my Allrecipes binder.

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

After all the great reviews on this coleslaw I decided to give it a try tonight. Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed. I made it exactly as written with the exception of using mayonaise instead of Miracle Whip (didn't have any) and celery and poppy seeds. It was spectacular! I will definitely be making this again.

Hot Dog Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2011
I made this exactly as written. The real secret to this sauce is to cook your hot dogs and then put them in the sauce in a crock pot or simmering on the stove for about an hour. Then when you put the dog in your bun add some sauce. Nothing else needed. Yummy!! This is in my "Keeper" folder.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2011
Hungry for tacos and out of seasoning my first thought was allrecipes.com. I wasn't disappointed. This is definitely better than any bought seasoning and tons cheaper. I was out of cumin but it was still delicious. I can't wait to make it again after I get the cumin. Definitely will never buy taco seasoning again. EDIT Made this again tonight with the cumin. WOW. This is absolutely a five star recipe. Thanks Bill.

Holiday Chicken Salad

Definitely a 5-star recipe. I made this exactly as written. To the poster who said it was bland, I don't know what you did but this is anything but, and I love spicy. The seasoned salt and paprika give it the punch and don't omit the craisins; they are what really set this recipe off. Thanks for a great recipe. I put mine on a multi-grain wrap and it was terrific!
