About this Cook
I'm adventurous and love to try new things. I'm good at teaching myself how to do various things by reading and studying. I'm a self-taught artist and cook.
My favorite things to cook
I've been on a cheesecake baking spree lately and have also perfected the perfect chocolate whoopie pie cake that I make for every picnic and family activity.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas we make an old recipe called Fruit Loaf. It's not to be confused with fruit cake; it's an entirely different recipe, served with whipped topping.
My cooking triumphs
I experiment a lot with baking artesian type breads and am getting close to making a Portuguese Saloio bread, but not quite there yet.
My cooking tragedies
I made chocolate chip cookies and added the baking soda twice... DOUBLE YUCK! Fortunately they weren't being taken anywhere so I didn't poison anyone :)

Chicken Enchiladas II
I made this recipe exactly as stated with the exception of using corn tortillas instead of flour because I'm not that fond of flour tortillas. This is DEFINITELY a keeper! Delicious! The only thing I might change for the next time is adding two cans of green chilies instead of one. I might also add some enchilada sauce too, but it is FABULOUS as posted.

Sausage Casserole
Excellent recipe. I also did as other reviewers suggested and used more potatoes, more eggs and pre-cooked the potato for about 20 minutes. I also added a little green pepper which really sent this over the top. Will definitely make again.

Faye's Pulled Barbecue Pork
Wow, this was better than the pulled pork I had at our county fair a few weeks ago. As suggested by other reviewers I used Sweet Baby Rays barbecue sauce and it was to die for!
