I'm a Nutrition student and so I have both personal and professional interests in food sciences and the culinary arts. I like to try to eat healthful foods and minimize consumption of processed foods, so I try to cook dishes from scratch whenever I can. Besides the kitchen arts, I love photography, travelling and music. I often boogey to jazz or pop in the kitchen ;)
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake both cookies and cakes. My favorite cookies are choc chip and raspberry thumbprints. I'm currently trying to conquer the cheesecake. I like to cook Italian and my fave dish is stuffed shells. I also love to venture into Mexican realms with burritos and tacos. I wish I could cook better Indonesian foods but it's quite difficult and labor-intensive!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Coming from Indonesia, my family loves spice in our food. Our Chinese heritage has also exposed me to wonderful Indonesian versions of Chinese dishes. In short, my Chinese-Indonesian family loves food that's heavy in both spices and flavor!
My cooking triumphs
I've tried making various versions of stuffed shells and they've all turned out delish!
My cooking tragedies
I just can't seem to make fondue right! The first and only time I tried it was a complete failure!!!
