About this Cook
I love to read, that is the thing that you will find me doing most in my spare time. I actually review the books I've read on goodreads.com, another good site. I like to collect cookbooks and recipes, but find myself never trying them, something I'm currently trying to remedy. One of my favorite places to get recipes other than allrecipes, is 101cookbooks.com. It contains many vegetarian friendly recipes that I love.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook desserts. Seeing as how I'm trying to watch my weight though, I usually refrain. I'm currently taking a cake decorating class which is interesting though. I pretty much like to cook any type of food, except I'm not big on grilling.
My favorite family cooking traditions
There really are no family cooking traditions ... growing up we pretty much had the same staples every week, hotdogs, hamburgers, casseroles, and steak. But occasionally we had this bomb potato soup. :)
My cooking triumphs
Vegetarian cooking has pretty much been the triumph. Cooking things that taste good that don't contain meat.
My cooking tragedies
I've had so many. Things have ended up down the garbage disposal many a times leading to a trip to some fast food place.

Swiss Chard with Garbanzo Beans and Fresh Tomatoes
I liked it and I got my 15 year old son to eat it. I didn't have any green onions or shallots, so that may have affected the flavor some, but it was still good. Loved the lemon juice.

Spiced Pumpkin Seeds
These came out really good. I'm glad we took the extra effort to save the pumpkin seeds from our pumpkin carving party today to make these. Yum Yum Yum!

Squash Stuffed Chicken Breasts
Loved this! It was easy to make, just took the time to chop up the vegetables. Used seasoned breadcrumbs instead of flour as suggested previously. Also browned the chicken prior to stuffing to make it easier. It came out really really well. Even my picky son loved it which is why it gets 5 stars!
