Growing up in the South with a large extended family I was always at my grandmom's knee learning the typical southern fare. Leave it to me to marry a Polish guy from NY who defines "home cooking" in a totally different light! I love making stews and experimenting with my crockpot! My mother makes the most wonderful dressing for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I've yet to make one as great as hers. My husband loves Cajun and Creole cooking after our many trips to New Orleans. For his birthday I made a Crawfish Etouffee and he loved it! After dinner he said, "I never thought you could do it but it was as good as any I've had". I once made a Fritata for my husband that he still refers to years later as "that awful Frito thing!".
