Marshmallow Treats

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2012
I made this using another users suggestions: To make them truly gooey use the following measurements: 11.5 cups Rice Krispies, 1 whole stick of butter, (1) 16oz bag of mini marshmallows. (I always use Jet Puff brand). They were awesome! I will be making it many more times! I decorated them with the icing found in "Sugar Cookie Icing" and they turned out great.

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2012
I used this icing to decorate rice crispy treats and it worked perfectly! Would highly recommend. I had to add extra milk to get the right consistancy but that was the only change I made. I put the icing in a small zip lock bag and piped with it. enjoy!

Slow Cooker Sausage with Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
Due to time constrants, I threw the sausages into the crockpot frozen. They were very yummy and tender but the sauce was very thin. so I was not able to use the sauce on the buns. This problem is no reflecting of the recipe so I still gave it 5 stars. In the future, I would thaw and brown to drain some of the liquid before cooking.

The Best Meatballs You'll Ever Have

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2011
My family loved these meatballs. As suggested by another reviewer I actually mixed the butter and olive oil right into the whole mixture. I then put them in a shallow glass baking dish with vegetable spray and baked them in the oven on 370 for 15 minuntes. After this I take them out along with all the juices in the bottom of the dish and cook them in plain old spaghetti sauce for about 15 minutes. I received rave reviews. In the future, I would like to use a meat mix that includes ground beef, pork and lamb that is available at my grocery store. Very good!

Lana's Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2011
My family loved this recipe. It was SO GOOD! I took another reviews suggested and doubled the sauce recipe. I did so (using 4 TBS cornstarch) and it made just the right amount. I think I will increase the oven time for the meatballs to 20 mins next time. Another change I made and would do again is that I used a meat mix called "meatloaf mix" from the grocery store. I think it was ground beef, pork and lamb. Made the meatballs very tastey! Will make in the future for sure!

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2011
Great recipe! It was good the day I made it and for leftovers. I made some variations (milk instead of cream, package of rice pilaf instead of wild rice) because of what I had on hand. The lesson I learned is that this recipe is a great base recipe and can be changed to fit your families tastes or what you have on hand. Really great!

Cinnamon Syrup

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2011
Whole family loved it. I followed other people's feedback and used only 1 TBS of flour and added 1 TBS of butter. It was awesome and a great consistancy. Will be making in the future, for sure!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2010
My family loves this meatloaf! I make this pretty close to written with the exception of mixing the ketchup with the brown sugar and putting it on the top rather than the bottom of the meat loaf. Excellent!

Puppy Chow I

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2010
This was excellent. Made the recipe with a 14 oz box of Corn Chex and thought it was the perfect coating. WARNING: The powered sugar coating was messy and you need a big paper bag to do it easily and well. I probably didn't use a whole pound of confectioners' sugar, I just played it by "sight". Enjoy!

Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2010
Well if you want to be hero, here's your chance. I made them exactly as written but as suggested also applied the dry rub in "Cathy M"'s review. They could not be more perfect. Make sure you do two things to the ribs before the cooking: take off the membrain on the back (slice and peal off using papertowel) and cut off any excess fat. Also I had more ribs than I needed so I prepared them and froze them in the foil packet for cooking at a later time. yum!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: May 18, 2010
Read a lot of review and settled for the suggestions made by Fervent Frugal Foodie. I made the right decision. They were excellent! Here are the three small changes: 1 3/4 cup of flour, 1 tsp of baking soda and cook them at a 335 degree oven for 12 minutes. I didn't have trouble with spreading, crumbling or any other cookie problems. They were just perfect!

Cheese Ball I

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
We really enjoy this recipe. I have made this cheese ball twice. Once I rolled it in pecans and once in almonds. Both were nice. Be warned this makes a big cheese ball. So if making for a family, you might consider cutting the recipe in half. One other tip, let the cheese ball sit in the refrigerator overnight before serving. It lets all the flavors come together.

Beef Barley Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2009
Loved it! I followed the suggestions and put all ingredients(except the barley) into the crock pot at one time (no cooking the meat ahead or cooking the veggies on the stove). Not only that but my meat was still frozen when I put it in the crock pot!!! It turned out excellent. My husband loved it and raved about having fresh soup.

As others have said this is the recipe on the German Chocolate box with the change in the flour (cake vs. regular and 1/2 cup more). This recipe is delicious! It is a favorite of my family.

I made this with 4 cups of frozen blueberries. I mixed 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1 tablespoon of corn starch to the blueberries before adding. It was absolutely delicious. The whole family loved it! This is a keeper. Good enough to serve to guests.
