I'm 33 years old and recently married the love of my life. We live in warm and humid Orlando, FL. I'm currently in school, majoring in Elementary Education. My husband is a Computer Technician. We love to travel and try different foods in the places that we go to. My husband is my biggest supporter in the kitchen. He is always wanting me to try or out-do something we try in a restaurant or country.
My favorite things to cook
When I first started cooking, 20 years ago...I loved baking. When I moved into my first apartment, I didn't know a thing about making "real" food. This forced me into the kitchen a lot more...as a necessity instead of a hobby on an occasional basis. I love to try different meals...I rarely cook the same thing twice in a month...variety is my main goal!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I would say strawberry cobbler on July 4th...carrot cake at Christmas. Cooking the best meal of the year on New Year's...like Prime Rib...or something more exotic.
My cooking triumphs
As my learning progresses...I'm constantly learning in the kitchen. What use to be hard for me...now is a cinch. I'm perfecting my skill right now. Instead of tasting good...Now I like to concentrate on the presentation.
My cooking tragedies
I bought this cookbook...from a reputable chef...I figured everything in the book was going to be exceptional. I made this one recipe in there...and it was awful!! It was this chef's 2nd book...making me feel as if she just threw anything that sounded good "together" to make up recipes...instead of them being "tried and true" recipes. This one should never had made it in the book.
