Caramel Macchiato Ice Cream

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2011
This was my first attempt at making Ice Cream and I was amazed how easy it was. The ice cream had a strong coffee flavor to me but that was just fine. I mixed the carmel in at the end of the churning cycle and it seemed to have mixed in pretty well with the ice cream. I served the ice cream over a brownie and drizzled more carmel sauce on top. It got rave reviews from my dinner guests. Thanks for the recipe!

Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2010
I made this for a recent movie night and people coul not stop eating this! I even had people trying to stash away bags of the popcorn to take home. I tried to mix on batch on the cookie sheet lined with wax paper-this worked ok but mixing it in a bowl worked much better. This recipe was easier than I thought and I forgot how much fun it is to pop popcorn in a machine!

Corn Dogs

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2010
Wow these taste like the real thing! I recently made these for an outdoor movie night. I used the mini "smokie" weiners for bite sized snacking. I was able to use 1 1 /2 packages of weiners for the written recipe. These went faster than I could fry them. Luckily I ate a few while making them or else I wouldn't have gotten one otherwise. Thanks for the great recipe!!

Bacon, Potato and Cheese Tart

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
Wow this was great. How can you go wrong with bacon and potatoes? ;) I used a throw away loaf pan which worked nicely for the bacon. It folded over the potatoes perfectly and looked beautiful when I pulled it from the oven. I thinly sliced the potatoes and sprinkled with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder with a light sprinkle of parm cheese. I made to accompany steaks but this would be great with breakfast as well.

Pumpkin Ginger Cupcakes

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
This was a delicious recipe! I agree with some other reviewers that they are more like muffins that cupcakes. I made some with Cream Cheese Frosting II and left some plain. Both were good but these can definately stand on their own. I made the recipe exactly as stated but agree that if you don't have the crystalized ginger they will still come out great. Everyone enjoyed them and this will be a keeper in my recipe box!

Shaved Brussels Sprouts with Bacon and Almonds

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2009
Wow-I thought this recipe was really fantastic. I have had brussell sprouts with bacon but never thought to thinly slice them. The addition of vinegar to the sprouts was really nice-I can't believe I never thought of that. This was really almost like a salad-many possibilites. Thanks for sharing!

Brown Sugar Smokies

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2009
You can't get any easier than this and the price to make this appetizer is so inexpenive! It only cost me $5.00. I also sprinkled brown sugar over the bacon wrapped smokies and let it sit in the fridge for a few hours. I did not put toothpicks through them and the bacon adhered just fine. I lined a baking sheet with foil for easy clean up. I couldn't stop gobbling these down. Also as a side note, I had these on a serving dish and they kept very nicely without having to stay heated. Great to bring along for a picnic, etc. Thanks for the recipe.

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2009
I made this recipe to go along with the Slow Cooked Corned Beef for Sandwiches recipe on this site, for St. Patrick’s Day. I normally do not like coleslaw but I was pleasantly surprised with this recipe. Another plus was that it literally took minutes to put together. Just a note-there was alot of dressing at the bottom of the bowl-will add less next time. I will definitely make again this summer at my next bbq.

Chocolate Chip Cheesecake I

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2009
This was a great cheesecake! I loved the crust and the cheesecake was not too sweet-nice and creamy texture. I brought leftovers to work today otherwise I would be eating it everyday until it was gone-not exactly good for the hips! Thanks for the recipe!

Spinach Phyllo Cups

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
I only gave this four stars b/c I did make some adjustments per the other reviews, however, after making the adjustments it was definately a 5 star recipe. I added parmesan cheese and 3 cloves of garlic (although if you don't love garlic 2 cloves would be enough). When I removed them from the oven I topped half with diced tomoato and the other half with bacon. My guests on NYE gobbled them up as soon as I put them down!

Brownie Caramel Cheesecake

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
I made this for a birthday party and wanted to love it. The cheesecake portion and caramel came out good but the brownie part came out rock hard. I would love to try this again. I bought the right size brownie mix, but perhaps I should have bought the bigger mix in the box?

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2008
After reading the other reviews, I added another 1/2 cup flower and 1 teaspoon vanilla. I was going to add another 1/2 cup peanut butter, but didn't have enough. I cooked the cookies for 9 minutes as other reveiwers and they came out perfect. I brought some to work and they got great reviews. Next time I will try with more peanut butter though.
