About this Cook
Cooking is comforting when cooking comfort food. It's what I do to relax.
My favorite things to cook
Soup!! We are "Soupie Groupies". It's amazing how a little of this and a little of that can produce something so easy and delicious in many different ways.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother cooking for our family on Thanksgiving brings back a lot of memories. I make everything she did and if I leave it out, one of the kids will say..."Hey, where's the...". So, I don't leave out anything.
My cooking triumphs
Like most families, we are busy with errands and after-school activites. So, a quick "process boxed-something" from the pantry was easier to throw together some nights. With Allrecipes, I found a way to make those same "boxed" products without the box and healthier. And it takes the same amount of time to make even on our busiet of days.
My cooking tragedies
I was trying to impress my first boyfriend with his favorite dinner one evening (London Broil). I called my aunt for advice many times that day. Everything turned out great until it came time to serve the meat. I cut it in half and plopped it on his plate only to learn later she left out one important piece of advice. London Broil is more tender (and edible) when sliced thin and on an angle and not by plopping a hunk on his plate. But that embarrassing experience was the beginning of my interest in cooking.

Autumn Pot Roast
Was looking for a different gravy to slow cook my roast in. This is IT! Something different always scares the men in our family...and this did. Then they TASTED it! AWESOME 5 star recipe...thanks for sharing!

St. Louis Toasted Ravioli
Fridays are for pizza. If not, I make it simple. Followed exact recipe. Son took a look and said he'd get something at the HS football game later. Next thing I know, they were gone with a mumble that they were good and to make them again! Fun, easy, and delicious!

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style
I can eat chicken everyday but not made this way. Made EXACTLY as called for but it just wasn't for me...sry.
