I was recently married (July 2004) and have gone back to school to get my masters degree, which gives me a much more flexible schedule to try out new dinner ideas than when I was working full time and getting home at 7:30! My husband seems to appreciate the change.
My favorite things to cook
I am always asked to make appetizers for gatherings, and I love to eat them too. My favorites are stuffed mushrooms or sashimi tuna with wasabi goat cheese.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom started me (and my brothers) young, we started by "helping" to measure and mix things, than I had to cook for the family once a week growing up. It was pretty simple at first, macaroni and cheese (from scratch), quesadillas, that sort of thing, but it eventually evolved and I really appreciate it.
My cooking triumphs
My husband's co-workers always comment on how great his lunches are...I always pack him leftovers from the night before. He has also claimed that they would rather come to our house than go out to dinner when he needs to entertain out of town colleagues.
My cooking tragedies
Burning the top of the fish in the broiler when my in-laws came to dinner, luckily it was coated with nuts I could brush most of them off, but the whole house smelled like I burnt something.
