About this Cook
Graduated from The Art Institute of Dallas in March 2006. I now have my own Personal Chef business in Seattle, Washington.
My favorite things to cook
Mexican Cuisine by far
My favorite family cooking traditions
Our family gets together during Christmas and since my mother is older the "kids" do the cooking. Kid's, meaning me and my two sisters. Cooking has always been an important part of our family. Everything is fresh and made from scratch. My mother was a pretty good cook and with her influenced it spilled over to us, three fold. The three of us prepare dinner while drinking wine, laughing about something crazy one of us did a long time ago and just enjoying each others company.
My cooking triumphs
When I lived in England every Sunday I would prepare dinner for my in-laws. My father-in-law and husband would go to the pub while my mother-in-law went to the club to play bridge. I had the kitchen all to myself. It was always a very traditional dinner usually something like leg of lamb, brussel sprouts and potatoes and Yorkshire Pudding. My father-in-law always requested my Yorkshire Pudding and gravy, he loved it. He would go on and on about how good it was. At one point it was embarrassing. It was his wife's recipe but apparently I made it a little better.
My cooking tragedies
Making a pound cake which I've made plenty of times. This time for a client. It always turned out fine in the past. The first time I'm getting paid for it, I had to make it three times before coming out right. The first time it wasn't done all the way and I turned the pan over and it came apart. The second time it was plain ugly. Well... three times a charm. Finally... That was the last time I made that recipe.

Pork Loin with Caraway Crust
Nothing special but still a good recipe. I used the left over meat to make a wonderful sandwich.

Cream Cheese Pound Cake III
This was pretty darn good. It took a little longer to cook. I thought the top was to brown but it turned into a wonder crust. Absolutely beautiful.
