Martha's Vegetable Beef Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
I did not expect to like this, but I am sooo glad I tried it anyways. The onion soup mix and dash of sugar really make it special. I used a pound of stew meat instead of the ground beef and browned it with onion and garlic. I threw it in the crock pot with beef broth instead of water and added a couple of diced red potatoes. It was fabulous!

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Much better on a pizza stone than in a metal pizza pan. I used all purpose flour and it tasted great.

Slow Cooker Pepper Steak

I gave this 4 stars and dh gave it 3. I thought it turned out to be pretty tasty and the leftovers were just as good. It kind of tasted like a stuffed pepper.

Awesome! I altered the recipe a little, but did nothing to change the overall flavor. They were like eating a pumpkin donut! Mmmmm....

The only thing I would add is to make sure you use good quality roast beef to get the best flavor.

Great recipe & super easy to make! I used cinnamon and nutmeg instead of the apple pie spice, but one day I will definitely try it with the apple pie seasoning.

Misti's Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2010
Great flavor. I only was able to marinate them for about 2 hours and they still had pretty good flavor. I used fresh garlic and white wine vinegar based on what I had on hand. I will definitely try marinating them for 8 hours next time to get the full effect! This may become a staple recipe for grilled chicken!

Barbecued Beef

This doesn't taste like real barbecue by any means. The meat gets really tender and it has a decent flavor, but it's more of a tomato sauce flavor than a barbecue flavor.

I love this recipe. I cut the cheese in half and had to bake it longer.

A Good Easy Garlic Chicken

I thought this was pretty uninteresting. It needs a little punch. Making the gravy as some suggested helped, but it was still a boring dish. :(

Blonde Brownies I

This is one of my go to dessert recipes for days when I don't have time to run to the store for ingredients as I usually have most of these on hand. If you think it is too sweet, use salted butter. Then you get a delicious salty sweet flavor which I love. I find that others really like the saltier version. I like them with chocolate chips and butterscotch chips combined. My husband prefers just chocolate chips. You could stir in any of your favorite cookie toppings though to change them up.

Very moist. I thought it was just ok, but I got a lot compliments on it and a request for the recipe. With a little butter and honey it was better. I ended up eating it for dessert! :)

Chocolate Truffle Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2009
I thought this was good, but it wasn't something that made me think, "Wow!" Also, it wasn't my favorite cheesecake texture. Perhaps, it was my cooking skills or lack there of. I did like how simple the ingredient list was and how easy it was to prepare. That bumped it up to 4 stars. :)

Pumpkin Cookies V

Awesome! I added 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice to the cookie and nearly 2 cups of powdered sugar to the icing. I think that if I'd let the icing cool for about 2 hours, I wouldn't have needed as much powdered sugar.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Marble Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2009
This was a really moist & delicious cake. I had an abundance of peanut butter that I needed to use up so I used about 3/4 peanut butter instead of the chips. I also used a yellow cake mix because that's what I had on hand and made it in a bundt pan. I added the satiny chocolate glaze from this site (with a heaping tbsp on pb added to it). I said all of that to say that this recipe is pretty versatile and you can easily alter it with what you have on hand. The result is incredible peanut buttery goodness!

Zuppa Toscana

This was awesome! I used chicken broth (6 cups) and had to substitute spinach for the kale since they were out at the grocery store. I also used crumbled spicy Italian sausage because we like a little heat. Yummo! Now I have to find a recipe for bread sticks & salad from this favorite restaurant.

I made these in the crockpot. They were good, but they weren't nearly as spicy as I was expecting. I had to add a lot of cayenne, salt and pepper to get it the way I wanted it.

Country Barbecued Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2009
This was really good and juicy! I used Chipotle Chile Powder instead of regular for more heat and a little smokiness and I seasoned the chicken breasts with salt and pepper before throwing them on the grill. I can't wait to make it again! Edited to add that I often make extra chicken and sauce to use later in the week on BBQ chicken pizza. Just add cheddar cheese, turkey bacon and your other favorite ingredients. Mmm....
