Hazelnut-Mushroom Pilaf

This is a good, basic recipe that can easily be tweaked to suit one's personal taste. I made the recipe as stated except I reduced the servings to 4 instead of 8 and I added green pepper, peas and corn for some color and a little more nutrition. The one thing that I noticed was that the Italian seasoning was too strong- it tasted more like spaghetti that I would have liked. Next time I will probably avoid that ingredient altogether and use some red wine and Worchestshire instead and lots of pepper.

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast

Flavor-wise, this was a good recipe, but if I make it again, I will use a pork shoulder roast instead of a loin. My pork was somewhat dry and that disappointed me, as I was really looking forward to this dish. I am willing to try it again, though, but just with a cheaper cut of pork.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies II

SUCH A GOOD COOKIE! I didn't do anything different and these cookies came out chewy and rich and oh so yummy! I will be making these again and again and am going to play around with the kinds of chips to see if I can make them even better.

Mexican Sour Cream Rice

My husband and I really enjoyed this dish and will be making it again! We definitely agreed with other reviewers that it needs more moisture, from sour cream or something else. One thing that we also thought was that it is a very versatile recipe and can be made with many other ingredients and flavors, not just a Mexican flavor. Thanks for the recipe!

Perfect St. Patrick's Day Cake

I thought this was a fairly easy recipe to follow but I skipped the chocolate drizzle part to save time. I'm not sure why but my cake was a bit dry which puzzled me....I will make this again and give it another shot because what's not to like about chocolate and Guinness and Bailey's? LOL

MMMMM... Brownies

I thought that these were very tasty and easy to make but they were missing something...I couldn't put my finger on it but I think that they needed perhaps a little brewed coffee in them or even a few teaspoons of some sort of liquor just to really bring out the chocolate flavor. Oh, and in my oven 30 minutes was a perfect time, as they were baked just right. I will make them again soon and tweak them to see what I can do to really make them stand out.

Raspberry Squares II

Very easy and delicious recipe! The few things that I did differently were to use a combo of raspberry preserves and boysenberry preserves and I also only used 2 cups of flour. I had a lot of the pastry mixture left over so next time I'm going to make the bars in at least a 9x9 pan or larger. I think that I will also grind the nuts up to a finer consistency, too, so that the bars aren't as crunchy. Can't wait to make these again!

Spicy Southwestern Slaw

I don't know why but this dish just didn't turn out for me. All it tasted like was oil to me; the flavors didn't meld very well in my opinion. I don't think that I'll be making this again.

Lemon Cooler Cream Cake

I liked this cake a lot and all the people who I served it to also liked it- BUT- I do agree with a previous reviewer who said that it had a bit of an artificial taste. In order to get rid of that, I think that I would add A LOT of fresh lemon juice and zest to the batter and the frosting. Other than that, the cake was very moist and tasty.

No Bake Chocolate Oat Bars

Super easy and good bars! The only thing that I did different was use regular oats, as that was all that I had, and add more peanut butter per other suggestions. I froze the bars for a few hours and then cut into small squares- can't wait to get the feedback on these tasty treats!

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

This was a VERY tasty dish and I'm so glad that I found it! Here is how I modified it: I coated the chicken with flour and salt and pepper and didn't use any ginger- forgot to buy it- and then used 1/8 cup teriyaki and 1/8 cup soy sauce, just to reduce the sodium a bit. It was pretty spicy- I used Sirachi sauce which I agree is a MUST- so next time I may make it a tad sweeter. Tasted even better than a restaurant!

Cheese Ball I

Great cheese ball recipe- it was a huge hit with my family. The only things that I did different was to replace the parmesan with monterey jack cheese (dad hates the stinky cheese) and add some minced red peppers for color and some added crunch. I also added some more of the spices until I was happy with the flavor and let it all sit in the fridge overnight, which I think made it all the better. Can't wait until Christmas to serve it again!

Too Much Chocolate Cake

SUPER cake recipe! Here are the things that I did different: I used a 3.9oz pkg of instant pudding as that is all I had; I added 1 tsp. of vanilla extract and I subbed the water out for Kahlua! I heated the slices up and served them with vanilla ice cream and fudge sauce- YUUUMMMMYYYY!! Once it was all heated up and served that way, it tasted a lot like the Molten Chocolate Cake that Chilis serves. I'm thinking of adding peppermint extract and peppermint schnapps for a holiday version-we'll see how that turns out!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Loved this cookie recipe! I really think that having an egg yolk instead of a whole egg is the trick to this recipe, as egg whites tend to dry dough out. My cookies turned out great, except that they became less chewy as the hours went on and the next day they were crispy. I think that I just need to store them in a better container next time, as my Tupperware container didn't keep them chewy enough.

Kay's Spaghetti and Lasagna Sauce

I was expecting more from this recipe and was disappointed that I didn't get it :( I ended up having to add a lot of red pepper flakes, more italian seasoning and some red wine to balance the flavors out.
