About this Cook
I am completely obsessed with food. I love to talk about food, shop for food, search for recipes, and plan meals. My husband Mike, of almost 13 years, who is not a foodie, doesn't quite understand how I can think about food so much. But he does enjoy the fruits of my labor. My son Michael, who is 5 years old is a true chocoholic. And my daughter, Julia 9 years old, has a more sophisicated palate. She perfers to eat grilled salmon rather than grilled cheese.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything Italian. Everything from homemade gnocchi, ravaoli, and pasta to chicken dishes like marasala, piccata and cacciatore. Recently I made Veal Osso Bucco, it was devine. Definately, a special occassion meal due to the cost.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love the tradition of making homemade Paska bread for the holidays. The recipe I use is hand written by my grandmother.
My cooking triumphs
I am well known for my stuffed mushrooms, but recently I made a prime rib that was as good as any steakhouse would serve, creamy horseradish sauce and all.
My cooking tragedies
When learning to cook I was trying make mashed potatoes and I way over boiled them and they broke apart. It was like potato soup, there wasn't anything left to mash. OOPS!

Blueberry Zucchini Bread
This was probably the best bread I have ever made. The only problem was the baking time was different everytime I made this due to the water content in the zucchini. I actually thought a loaf was done, toothpick can out clean, took it out of the oven and it fell like a rock. Totally undercooked and ruined. Anyway I highly recommend giving this recipe a try it is delicious, but bake it longer than you think it needs. No fun to throw underbaked bread in the garbage.

Buttery Corn Bread
Excellent!! Moist and only slightly sweet. Everyone loved it. Put leftovers under the broiler for a few minutes the next morning, kind of toasted it, spread some butter on it and it was yummy.

Chicken Cordon Bleu II
Made this exactly as the recipe is written, no changes. I must say this was a really great chicken cordon bleu. Very easy, rich and creamy. I will be making this again.
