I grew up in a household of six kids and a mom who is a wonderful cook. My two sisters and I all love to cook, I credit our mom for that!
My favorite things to cook
Almost anything...really! I like making things that are involved...could never be a "meatloaf every Wednesday" cook; I have to have more variety or cooking isn't as enjoyable.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Probably, like most people, it revolves around holidays... Weather that'd be a traditional Irish Boiled Dinner (St. Patrick's Day), my grandmother's reveered Pumpkin Pie (Thanksgiving & Christmas) or my dad's very favorite birthday cake: Pineapple Upsidedown Cake (November).
My cooking triumphs
My favorite thing that I guess I would call a "triumph" is my Crandberry Cheesecake that is encased in hardened Dark Chocolate! Impressing my soon-to-be father-in-law, who is 100% Italian, with my Lasagna...I'm 100% Irish!
My cooking tragedies
I made a Chicken Divan Casserole for a bridal shower, for 130+ people, and didn't figure the correct conversion of uncooked-to-cooked rice. Ended up with massive amounts of cooked rice to send home with shower attendees!
