About this Cook
I am divorced and live with my doggy who is more than happy to try my recipes!!! I enjoy creating new dishes and cooking traditional favorites. I love to experiment with recipes, and create altogether new ones!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook dishes with chicken, it is easy and versatile! Garlic is a must in all my dishes, I never cook without it! Fresh vegetables over canned anyday! And a salad with every meal is a must!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My cuisine is very meat-and-potatoes oriented. I LOVE pasta and rice dishes, but once in a while a good beef roast with some steamed veggies and baked potatoes really hits the spot!
My cooking triumphs
I have made the best looking Thanksgiving feast known to man! Even passed up the cover of the magazines! The turkey was perfect, all the sides were scrumptous, a feast to remember!
My cooking tragedies
I attempted Beef Wellington once at Christmas or Easter, I can't remember which, but I purchased the wrong cut of meat and it made all the difference. The whole thing was ruined and despite my best attempts to save what took me all day to make, it was an absolute disaster. Someday I will tell you about the Chinese Chicken--my family still cringes at the words!

Fabulous Beef Tenderloin
I tried this recipe with some leftover tenderloin I had--one smaller piece and a somewhat larger piece. I thought it would be too salty with straight up soy sauce, so I did two parts butter, 1 part soy sauce, 1 part Worcestershire, 1 part steak sauce. The smaller part did come out a bit salty, but the larger part came out tender, juicy and VERY flavorful! I did give it a 4 only because I think it would have been too salty had I followed the recipe. Thanks!

Italian Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
This was the best! I did have to put the rack in my oven to the lowest one to avoid burning from the broiler, but if you like cheesy garlic bread, you will LOVE this recipe! I also tried two or even three cheeses and ALL were YUMMY! Even my picky eaters ate it!!!

Easy Honey Mustard Mozzarella Chicken
This recipe was okay, but it took longer than ten minutes to get the bacon crispy, in fact I stuck it in the broiler because everything else for my dinner was ready. Also, the cheese and bacon didn't adhere to the chicken at all, it came off when we tried to cut the chicken in one big hunk. I would maybe suggest maybe putting some cheese and then bacon and then more cheese. That might help it stick to the chicken! As far as flavor, my family said it was okay, and I agree, maybe a more flavorful seasoning on the chicken, or maybe a more flavorful cheese rather than mozzarella?
