The Best Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
This is a regular in our house, my husband loves it, my son loves it and I love it! This recipe tastes great and I usually have the ingredients on hand. I don't change a thing other than using frozen meatballs if I don't have the time to make fresh meatballs. I usually serve it with mashed potatoes and a side of vegetables, but have also used buttered noodles. YUM! Also, if there is sauce left over I freeze it to use it again later.

Beat and Bake Orange Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2005
I've made this cake twice and my family loves it! I haven't made it with the icing because I didn't have everything needed but I have made it with the syrup someone else suggested. I've made it with and without the syrup and both ways are great I can just imagine how awesome it would be with the icing. When I baked this cake I just used a rectangular dish, a 9x13 I think.

Authentic Potato Pancakes

I've made these twice already! My husband and son love them, I like them too. My husband had to share some with people at work and they liked them too. This is a great recipe to make for a large group of people because this recipe makes a lot. We had some left over for a day or two. I had to send some over to the in-laws. lol

Savory Montreal Steak Rub

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2005
This rub was great, I was looking for something different, I usually just use Montreal Steak Spice when I fix steak. I didn't put any oregano in it because that wasn't the flavour I was looking for but I'm sure it's great with it in there, maybe next time. Instead I did add garlic powder. This was so yummy! Thanks!

This dressing was really good, I did add just a bit more of mustard for a little more zing.

Sorta Salisbury Steak

This tasted really good. It does take some time to make but if you have the time it's worth it. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because of the time. My family really enjoyed it. Thank you.

Colored Sugar

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2005
This is such an excellent way to make colored sugar.I just added a little more color as needed. I needed colored sugar to sprinkle on my heart shaped cookies for Valentine's and didn't want to run out to the store to buy colored sugar. It's inexpensive and works really well. Whatever sugar I had left over I would just use in my coffee or tea or in anything that the color wouldn't matter. I even used the left over surgar when making my home made pasta suace. Thank you so much!

Crazy Crust Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2005
My husband and son really liked this recipe, I thought it was ok. It's a great recipe if you want pizza but don't have all the things you need to make the dough. It of course doesn't turn out to be like pizza dough (bread like) but it was good otherwise.

Kielbasa and Bow Ties

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2005
This recipe turned out really good! It was a change from the usual meat I use. My husband really loved it. I was looking for a way to use up my sausage. I did like someone else suggested by cooking the pasta seperate. This recipe actually tasted better the next day after the flavours mingle for a bit. Thank you!

Fresh Pineapple Upside Down Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2005
This recipe was good, and I think it would have been better if I had used my usualy pan that I didn't have at the time. Because I used a larger pan the sauce had to go a longer way so made the cake turn out a little dry. I will have to try this again with the cake pan recommended.

Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2005
WOW was the meat ever tender in this stew! I have never made beef stew that the beef turned out so tender. My husband loved it and so did my son, I did too! I didn't have cornstarch so I used flour and added it to the meat before adding the veggies. I also added peas to it just for extra veggies for my family. Thanks for such a great recipe. This one is a keeper for sure!

Molasses Sugar Cookies II

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2005
These cookies have a lot of flavour. The only thing I did't care much about this cookie is that it turned out really flat after it baked. I prefer a thicker cookie. Other than that it was very tasty. My son loved them as well as my hubby. If I can't find another recipe that makes a thicker cookie I will continue to make this cookie, it tasted that good and I think I can get past the flatness of it. LOL.

Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2005
I was given the duty to fix ham for Christmas and had never cooked ham before. It was a big hit, hardly anyone touched the turkey. I was dissapointed that there wasn't ham left over to take home, that's how good it turned out. Insead of using whole cloves I used ground cloves. I didn't have corn syrup but used 1 cup of honey and brown sugar instead. I did add a little mustard too just for a little zip. I'm glad I read the reviews because I did end up with a lot of glaze even though I used 1 cup of honey and no corn syrup. I will definitely make this recipe again! It's a keeper! Thank you so much!

Good Old Meat Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2004
I have made this recipe so many times! It is a family favorite, I've made it for friends and family and they all love it. I do add more potatos and carrot in it and sometimes if I have left over gravy I put it in too. I have also made this recipe with stew pork meat and stew beef mixed together and it was very yummy.
