Quick Quiche

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
I've tried other quiche recipes and this one is just OK. It didn't have enough substance to it and tasted like an egg fritatta. If I'm not using a pie crust, we prefer the texture of the recipe using pancake mix.

Sweet and Sour Pork Patties

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
Good recipe for a sweet & sour dish. Next time I will use a little less red pepper flakes and buy a different brand of sweet & sour sauce. It gave me a chance to finish the fresh parsley from Thanksgiving. I think it's a must.I made 9 patties and cooked them in my square electric skillet.

I like making a lot of side dishes at Holiday dinners. This one is a double hit for those who like corn or broccoli.

I've made these a few times and it impresses my guest that I've taken the time to make crackers. These are better than what you can buy.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Absolutely loved this recipe. It's perfect with Texas Red Velvet Cake. It's not too sweet so you can decorate the cake with all kinds of extras (icing, jelly beans, gumdrops, etc) that may be sweet.

The recipe tasted great. My problem is that it just didn't look appetizing.

The recipe just didn't come together taste wise. It will do in a pinch so I'm going to keep looking for something a little more tasty.

Creamy Lemon Pie I

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2007
So easy and So good. I usually make my own crusts, but when in a time crunch, a purchsed pie shell is just fine. Out of all the lemon pie recipes I've tried, this one takes the cake (I mean pie)

Cocktail Sauce for Shrimp

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2007
I made this three hours before the luncheon. The ladies loved it and the men felt it needed more kick. Maybe if I had made it earlier, the horseradish would be stronger. Either way, it has be much fresher taste than premade sauce and it was loved by all.

Big hit at the Ladies Luncheon on a very hot day. Some mixed the punch with unsweetened tea for a type of "Arnold Palmer". Will definitely make punch and ice ring again.

Salisbury Steak

Absolutely the Best Salisbury Steak recipe ever! My husband loves this because there isn't any tomato products used to make this recipe. Leftovers keep well and this tastes good with buttered noodles or mashed potatoes.

Irish Potato Candy

After mixing all the ingredients together, I chilled for about 30 min to harden it up and not be so sticky. The cinnamon coating went on well. Be sure not to make them too big. Irregular shape, two bite size is perfect. Keep refrigerated.

I'm not a big beef eater but my husaband is. He loved this and I ate some too and liked it. We had parsley buttered noodles, marinated vegetable salad on lettuce and Irish soda bread. What a great winter meal!

Vegetable Soup - Irish Style

Great taste even though I couldn't find parsnips. First time I've ever used leeks and I really like them. My only complaint is the texture. I will puree only half next time. Served with dark beer and Irish soda bread.

Really liked this. I used half fresh and half thawed frozen broccoli. Next time I will use a sauce brand that I have tried and liked instead of something new. The bacon adds an interesting texture and taste.

Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2006
Perfect baked item to make up on a cold day. I had everything already here at home. They aren't fancy but they do the job. I mixed the recipe using my new Kitchen Aid which is easier and faster than by hand which is how I used to do biscotti.
