I'm recently married, but my husband and I have been "nesting" for a few years. I am a teacher and don't like to spend my time in front of a stove, so I like things that are quick and easy. I love spicy foods! I was raised eating Korean food, but my husband is all American (i.e. green bean casseroles galore!) Luckily our dinners are a good compromise...One night Asian influences, one night American influences.
My favorite things to cook
Spicy Fish Soup, Garlic Shrimp Pasta, Hearty Tuna Noodle Casserole, Mimi's Slumgullion
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother is an amazing chef, and the lengths that she goes to to create four star meals is tremendous. I could never do that! But it's amazing to watch her put a meal together.
My cooking triumphs
Cooking consistently on a night by night basis is a pretty big triumph for me. I have to resist the temptation to go out because I looove food, but I'm a picky eater, so I have to expend my menus!
My cooking tragedies
Once I took a hot glass baking dish out of the oven and put it on the stove top...unfortunately on a lit burner...It exploded but luckily we heard the whistling sound and ducked in time. Little pieces of melted glass were imbedded in our carpet, but SOOO luckily we were not hurt.
