Baked Teriyaki Chicken

I've made this sauce many times over the years. I keep fresh ginger in the freezer so it's really easy to use freshly grated in this recipe. Such a great sauce to use for all Asian recipes!

Delicious! All three kids loved these. I somewhat agree with other reviewers that they are not completely 'fudgy' like brownies, but they aren't really cakey either - somewhere in between. In any case, the slight almond flavor is incredible and I will be making these again! To simplify, I melted the chocolate and butter together in a bowl over simmering water and it worked great.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Nonna's Tuscan Salad Dressing

Pretty good - wish that I had seen that the water amount was misprinted. I'll try again with reduced amout of water. Still better than using a commercially made dressing.

White Frosting

Thank you, Sierra, for posting this recipe! This is the white frosting I remember from my childhood in the 70s. My mother used it for chocolate cake until she "discovered" 7-minute-frosting. But, I still like this one better. I thought it was lost to history - I'm so happy to find it again and share it with my family.

Strawberry Coffee Cake

So easy and delicious!! My 3 kids can't get enough of this. I had some strawberries that were a little past their prime and this recipe was perfect for them. I added a little brown sugar and oatmeal to the topping. I'm sure this would be great when blueberries and peaches are in season too. This will be a staple in my recipe box! You should give this one a try!

Meatball Soup

This was okay - I used fire roasted diced tomatoes instead of tomato sauce and used orzo for the pasta. I added about half an onion sauteed in olive oil for a couple minutes before adding the carrot, celery, and garlic. Then added the meatballs and liquids along with some red pepper flakes for flavor. Pretty good, but didn't get raves at the dinner table. It does get brownie points for being easy - a great use for pre-made meatballs.

Chocolate Chip Muffins

Made these for teenage Sunday school group. What I liked: they were quick, easy, and I usually have all ingredients on hand. What I didn't like: they were a little dry, bland, and didn't brown nicely on top. I added vanilla, and held out 1T of the flour to coat the chips in so they wouldn't sink to the bottom.

My Amish Friend's Caramel Corn

The words "to die for" come to mind! I used real butter as I cannot imagine using margarine in any recipe. I popped two Whirley Poppers of corn = 1 cup unpopped, and then poured it all into my enormous Staub and mixed, spread onto 2 pans, and baked. This was much easier than I imagined and a super snack - so easy to pack in individual servings, too! Pop your own corn instead of using microwave corn - it really is so much better!

Lemon Muffins

These are not really the texture of what I would deem a traditional muffin - almost more like a scone than a muffin. My lemon peel was too dried out to zest, unfortunately, but the lemon was still very juicy on the inside. So, I used the juice of the whole lemon and 1/2 teaspoon of lemon extract. I found the batter to be too dry so I splashed in some more milk and also added Craisins and glazed the tops. I will try them when I have a fresher lemon on hand, and maybe some blueberries.

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake VII

Yum! Quick, easy, and wonderfully old-fashioned. I have my grandmother's cast iron skillet; she is 97. I bet my skillet has seen its share of pineapple upside down cake over the years and this recipe did not disappoint. I needed to bake about 40 minutes in my oven. It fluffed up but did not run over.

French Baguettes

My 15-year old son (who loves bread) said that this one is amazing. We made sandwiches with the leftover Christmas Honeybaked ham - they were great! I followed the recipe exactly and was very pleased with the outcome - not a super-crusty French bread.

After making these twice, I won't make them again. I don't understand all the great reviews. They were okay, not spectacular. I made them a second time just in case I had done something wrong, but got the same result. I found them bland and dry. Very disappointing after reading all the reviews....

Banana Oat Muffins

Good, quick & easy - I subbed applesauce for about half the oil. They were very moist, but stuck to the paper cups due to the lack of oil. I like that this recipe has the addition of oats instead of all white flour.

Easy Broccoli Quiche

A great way to use up leftover cooked broccoli - served with hot rolls and fresh pineapple - yum! I had to bake it for about 45 minutes because it was still too jiggly after 30 minutes. All 3 kids and husband liked it too.

Monkey Bread II

I wish I could give this 4.5 stars. I can't believe I'm saying this, but -- there was just too much butter. Also, the texture was a little off in my opionion. I wonder if I would like it better made with bread flour instead of all-purpose. However, much better than monkey bread made with canned biscuits!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Very good stew! My kids really liked it - my 10 yr old son ate 3 bowls! I didn't use my slow cooker. Instead, I browned the flour-dredged meat in my cast iron dutch oven then added all the veggies and broth and popped it in 250 degree oven and let it cook all morning and while we were at church. The house smelled amazing when we got home. Cook time was about 5 hours. Next time I would add more liquid as I like more broth in my stew. With homemade cornbread it was a great meal!

German Apple Pancake

I think I'm in love! I could've eaten the whole skillet myself. We ate it for dinner alongside cheese grits and bacon. Certainly not healthy, but definitely delicious!
