About this Cook
When I got married and came to the realization that the knowledge that I had in the kitchen wasn't going to be enough for the both of us to eat "good" food. Hamburger Helper and Raman noodles were a favorite of mine and I stocked up when they went on sale (in college of course). My parents rarely cooked, we lived on dining out, but my grandma could make a meal. I remember being in college and being so excited for the holidays so that we could go over to my grandparent's house for a home cooked meal. Finally after realizing that I didn't have the background to do it on my own....I searched on the internet. I found this site and well....here I am. I now am expiramenting with different things on my own (something I wouldn't have dared to do before). My husband has been telling me that his co-workers are jealous and ask him every day..."What's the wife cooking for dinner?" I think I do ok now. I like being in the kitchen and finding new things to make.
My favorite things to cook
I really like to cook almost anything. I like to try new things, but have to admit that I choose taste over health. I hate to admit, but my favorite thing to make (and eat) are desserts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I used to cook Christmas breakfast. It is the best to have my entire family over and make everything from scrambled eggs to biscuits and gravy and even waffles. It was great to cook for a family instead of for 2.
My cooking triumphs
It has taken me forever to make the perfect cookie. They never seem to turn out the way they are supposed to. I almost gave up and decided to buy the ready made cookie dough and not do the work myself, but after 2 years of trying....I finally got one right.
My cooking tragedies
The first night that I had to cook dinner for my husband. I had no idea what to even do. I remember making fried chicken. It wasn't the best, but I tried. That was enough for me. Since then, he says I have gotten better at my cooking...which I have to admit is a compliment. My husband always talks about dinners at work and several of his co-workers have invited themselves to dinner....I don't mind.

Seafood Bake for Two
This is a really easy dish to prepare and you can easily change the ingredients to suit your tastes or what you have on hand. I have made this several times and had several kinds of white fish. Thanks for the post.

A Farewell to Basil Fettuccine
This was so delicious and so easy. I don't have a pasta maker and it was my first attempt at making fresh pasta. I did have a little trouble trying to get the pasta thin enough, but it turned out well. Basil flavor was just right and we grilled up some garlic shrimp to serve with it. Thanks for the post.

Fry Bread Tacos II
These were good and easy to make. Wanted something different than our typical taco meal and this fit the bill. Didn't change a thing to the fry bread but added our own taco toppings to our preference. Thanks for the post.
