Single Mom with the sweetest and most beautiful kids in the world, Erik and Alexa. Adore my Sweetie, who's too too far away. I run a little cafe in a car dealership and love taking care of "my boys".
My favorite things to cook
At work, I cook good hearty things like baked mac&cheese and mashed potatoes, lasagna, or French Dip sandwiches. They're all favourites--comfort food, stick to your ribs good ol' fashioned home cookin'! However, I'm vegetarian. I like to make cakes that impress. Also inherited my grandmother's talent in baking pies, squares and cookies. I have an arsenal of my own recipes which I developed when I ran a small country inn and owned my b&b. What I don't know about cooking and food (admittedly a lot!), I love to learn. Cooking is a skill that is so fun to share!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother needs chocolate eclairs once in a while! I used to put together a big do on Christmas Eve for my family when we were all closer. Now, we have a weekly tradition: The kids help out making pancakes for Sunday breakfast.
My cooking triumphs
I used to make the most hideous cakes! Then I took the Wilton course, and I'm confident in my cake decorating skills now, even made a coworker's wedding cake. I made a naughty birthday cake for a guy at work (boobs peeking out of the top of a blue bodice). That was a lot of fun.
My cooking tragedies
I'm so happy that it's taking a long time to answer this one! Hmmm... Okay, this goes back to when I was a kid. I knew that pasta was made of eggs and flour. Well, so is cake. Cheese is made of milk, well, so is frosting. So I thought it would be brilliant to make a macaroni cake with cheese frosting. Imagine a white cake with chewy chunks frosted with Cheez Whiz buttercream frosting! My sweet doggy, Morgan, loved it!
