Having the opportunity to travel in work, I have been able to sample many different cusines. Everything from grits and greens (pronounced gahretts and granes)to NY deli food and all the subcultures found there. YUM! I still favor seafood from my own native Pacific Northwest--razor clams, salmon, Alaskan king crab, so I try to go home once a year to see my daughter, my sister, and have a few good meals with them.
My favorite things to cook
Anything I can share. I love to cook for people; cookies for work, brunch on a Saturday, holiday dinners. It's really fun to go with a theme and carry it out for a whole meal.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Funeral jello; My mom's potatoe salad; her Christmas Turkey; Goulash; and many special holiday meals.
My cooking triumphs
Saturday Brunch for my son's Navy buddies and their families.
I was the Wilton lady for a while, I did some amazing cakes. I once baked and decorated a special anniversary cake for all the stores in a local mall (35) out of my home kitchen. They were all to be delivered the same day and then given away as part of the festivities.
My cooking tragedies
My first meal as a wife was a meatloaf that cooked in a new crock pot for 9 hours and was still completely raw.
I accidently delivered a wedding cake to a funeral.
