Delicious Ham and Potato Soup
As we speak, this recipe is on the stove and if the first few "taste tests" are whats for dinner gang, this is OUT OF THIS WORLD!! OMG!! I've never made it from a recipe before and thought, I'd give this a go, why? We got a BLIZZARD coming Fri night through early a.m. Sun + anywhere from 10" to 14"!!! What better way to enjoy the snow than with Ellie's "Delicious Ham and Potato Soup!" I happened to see Jennifer's review and sure enough there was a spiral ham bone loaded with ham in the freezer from Christmas, 2009. Did use water initially but as it boiled away, added 2 Knorr's Chicken Bouillon cubes--use none other now, these are the BEST!--not so salty! -almost all of a 32 oz carton of Swanson Chicken Broth and let her rip!! I know I ended up using more but the same ingredients as Ellie's recipe calls for;however, being a very good military brat, "I adapted and overcame!" ;o) I'm always worried the milk will curdled as it did more than once when learning to cook...Will keep y'all posted on that in a few! ;o ) Gang, if you've got a hankering for potato soup in any form, this is the ticket!!! Its the ABSOLUTE BEST I've EVER had! If you're a beginning cook, follow her recipe exactly. If you're a "seasoned cook" rock with it anyway you like--I swear its foolproof and your honey, dinner party, friends over for supper are going to be RAVING about what an "INCREDIBLE" cook you are--that's a promise!
