Tex-Mex Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2012
I thought it was an OK soup. Good but not really exciting. I might make it again but would add a little more spice to give it some kick.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2011
I really enjoyed this cake. I followed some of the other suggestions and substituted applesauce for a part of the oil and added a can of crushed pineapple. My family doesn't love nuts so I didn't add the pecans to the frosting. This is a keeper for me.

Bacon Ranch Pea Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2011
I have made this salad a couple of times and really enjoyed it. I use the packaged real bacon pieces and try and use the more expensive ranch dressing found in the refrigerated section of the grocery store. I also just rinse the frozen peas in cool water to thaw and pat dry with a paper towel to remove excess water. Last time used a package of Great Value (Walmart) frozen sweet peas and tasted great.

Holiday Peppermint Bark

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2010
I Love this recipe. I make it every year for Christmas. This year I purchase a package of white candy quick. Followed the package instructions on melting in the tray. I finely crushed 40 mini candy canes leaving a few little chunks mixed in the tray and poured out on wax paper. Super simple... Super Tasty

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2010
This is an excellent soup. I have made it at least 5 times or more. I recommend doubling if you are serving it as a main dish for more than 4 people. I have used all sorts of ham... the pre chopped kind in the deli meat section, a teardrop, a ham steak, picnic, bavarian (deli section in Walmart). I have liked them all but my favorite was the leftover picnic. I highly recommend this recipe and have given it out to my coworkers and family.

Broccoli Chicken Divan

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
I will definately be making this again. I did make a few changes for personal taste. I added garlic powder while cooking the chicken, used frozen chopped Broccoli.. easier, and used one can of cream of onion soup instead of broccoli... family loves onions. I put a slice of swiss cheese on my portion which was very yummy. Served with a side of mashed potatoes.

Orange Sherbet Salad I

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
I made this for Thanksgiving and the family enjoyed it... especially the kids. Family preference is for nothing "chunky" in the jello salad so left out the oranges and bananas and it was still delicious. I frosted with cool whip.

Sharese's Spaghetti Salad

I have made this twice. I add more black olives and tomatos. I will definately be keeping this recipe in my favorites. It is important to use the McCormick salad seasoning as another reviewer suggested.

Lasagna Alfredo Roll Ups

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
I have made these twice now and they are well worth the effort. The second time I made them I put a layer of spaghetti sauce on the bottom. I thought it was tasty and a good compliment to the alfredo on top.

I have now made this three times. Easy and fast to make. One time I used a chocolate cake mix and mint chips. Turned out great. Will be making these bars again.

Chicken Florentine Casserole

Enjoyed this recipe. I too used fresh baby spinach. I layered this in my slow cooker insert and baked for an hour then put it on low and transported it to potluck. Got good reviews. I served it over pasta. Thanks for the recipe!

Breakfast Pies

Delicious & easy to make. I used Pillsbury canned biscuits and had no trouble with overflowing. I used a cookie scoop to transfer egg mixture. I used both red pepper and green pepper for color.

Luau Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
This is a great recipe that I will be adding to my favorites. I made it for a luau and doubled the other ingredients but tripled the sauce ingredients so I would have more for on the side to add to the white rice if needed. The only thing I changed was I put one can of bamboo shoots and one can of water chestnuts and used green, red and yellow peppers to equal two peppers for more color. I would recommend this recipe

Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
I made this for a luau for 10 adults and 9 children. Used Hawaiian rolls (purchased at Walmart). I served it with coleslaw, barbecue sauce, pickles and cheese. I checked all the stores in town and could not get Hawaiian sea salt so went with regular sea salt. I might try and order the hawaiian salt on- line. We had a buffet so double the recipe of meat was plenty. I am looking forward to using the leftovers in other recipes. I would recommend this for the taste, ease of preparation and buffet friendliness. I did cut down on the salt by a 1 TBSP.

Brunch Strata

Reviewed: May 11, 2009
Great Recipe. I made it for a Mother's day brunch and it was well liked. My brother had four servings and asked to take home all the leftovers. I prepared it the night before and followed the recipe exactly accept that I don't have any 11 x 7 pans so put it into two 9 X 13 pans. I took the pans out of the refrigerator 30 minutes prior to baking and baked for 50 minutes. Next time I will watch the baking time closer because I think it was a little over cooked. Thanks for the recipe. I will be making it again.

Layered Chicken and Black Bean Enchilada Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2009
If you are looking for a tasty Mexican dish to make a day ahead of time this is a great recipe. I followed another reviewers advice and baked the corn torillas to help them stay crispy. I thought the recipe could use a little more enchilada sauce but it got great reviews from the three different homes that I brought the casserole. Along with the casserole I brought spanish rice, refried beans and mexicorn. I also gave them lettuce, tomatoes, onions, black olives, salsa and sour cream to make a complete meal.

Cabbage Rolls II

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2009
I really liked this recipe. I followed others advice and doubled the sauce. I misread the recipe and put two tablespoons of worcestershire sauce (instead of two teaspoons) and we loved it. I tried cooking the cabbage in the microwave per another reviewers suggestion and didn't like the way it turned out so next time I make it I will go back to steaming the cabbage in a pot. I also baked the rolls at 350 degrees for an hour. To save time I used Uncle Ben's precooked brown and wild rice that comes in the microwave pouch. Thanks for the delicious recipe
