Cream Puff Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2012
This is a 4 star as is, but with the Eclair II chocolate filling addition it is a 5* !. It is easy, delicious and has great presentation... I baked mine is a 9" springform pan. This created a bowl like cake with high sides to hold all the yummy filling. Baked for 28 min. Recommend it !!

Guacamole

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2011
First attempt @ guacamole. Not a fan of it, but wanted to bring it to a summer invite to a friends lake home. everyone thought it was great. All thumbs up. Easy. I say the hardest part of this recipe is finding the perfect ripness of the avacados. You want semi soft, not soft to touch. Roll the room temperature limes with your palm on the counter to juice them up before cutting. You must try it!

Festive Spinach Queso Dip

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
This has been a must at all our family gatherings. Our recipe is just a tish different. We use 2 lbs. of the pepper jack cheese! We found out the hard way that the cheese should be from a deli or meat market. The grocery store variety just doesn't melt down to the needed consistency. So don't skimp on the quality of cheese. We keep it warm in a small crockpot and constantly get requests for the recipe. Buy the right cheese and you won't be disappointed!!

MMMMM! very good. Don't wait for them to get golden brown, they will be dry. the sugar cinnamon mixture will give them that golden color. As stated before don't make just 12. Everyone that tried them couldn't just have one. Tasty lit'l guys. TRY THEM! just don't over bake...and I too just dipped the top of the muffins. First few were waaaay too sugary! Thank you for a simple and very good recipe.

Rhubarb Strawberry Jam

VERY SWEET! DOES HAVE A JELLO TASTE TO IT. I WAS DISAPPOINTED. FIND A RECIPE THAT ACTUALLY HAS STRAWBERRIES IN IT. THERE ARE OTHERS THAT ARE JUST AS SIMPLE. IF YOU CHOOSE TO MAKE THIS CUT WAY BACK ON THE SUGAR!!

Slow Cooker Thanksgiving Turkey

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2010
Thanksgiving on a weeknight! So easy and so good. I backed off a bit with the bacon. The first time I made it, I thought it overpowered the turkey taste. I did trasnfer the juice to the stove top to thicken the gravy with flour water mixture. Excellent gravy. Could be done day before Thanksgiving dinners for additional gravy. My family likes tons of gravy. No more worries! I will always have plenty..

Mall Pretzels

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
These do taste very close to the mall version. The tough part is to get them shaped just right. It is important to make them as thin as possible so they bake without puffing up to form one big "bun". I dipped the rope into the water bath then twisted them and it was much easier. The parchment paper is a must also. I will make again!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2009
THIS IS VERY RICH. I agree with the other reviewer, you don't need the sour cream layer! It needs something to make the presentation better so I sprinkled mini chips on top and sides after baking instead of putting them in the "cake" layer. I can't imagine how sweet it would be with more choclolate ganache or fudge for topping. Bake 1 hr. I will not make again.

This is soo very good. It has a light texture with a lot of banana flavor. Brought as a hostess gift. One of her guests was an owner of a bakery and thought that it was the best she has eaten. She said that with her mother right there. lol. A must!

This is the BEST! The quanities of the ingredients are perfect. Onion will overpower and Red Pepper can overpower. Be careful. I am asked for the recipe EVERYTIME..Let the "dressing sit abit" to allow the br sugar to dissolve before adding it to the salad. You won't be disappointed. Soooooo Good!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

OMG DELICIOUS! I had to make this recipe twice. The first time I followed directions as is. "HUGE" crack in the cake! Next day I used the waterbath and lessened the flour. WOW, Perfect!! This is an awesome cheesecake. I wanted it to look as good as it taste. I brought it to a birthday party and everyone went ga ga. 2nd time I was short on time...left it in the oven for 2 hrs and refridgerated it. A must try, WITH THE WATERBATH!

Apple Crisp IV

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2008
This is yummy. It does need the cinnamon and sugar with the apples. I peeled the apples, and as I was doing that I put them in a big bowl of lemon juice and water, to keep them from browning, I used 7 lg granny smith apples and made 1 1/2 topping mixture, using the reduced amount of flour as suggested by others. As I was layering I sprinkled cinnamon and sugar. Reserve more of the topping for the top. My pan was quite full so I needed to bake it longer than stated. It was about 70 min. Once topping was browned I covered with tin foil to pervent burning. It is sweet and tart at the same time. Oooh can't wait to serve this for Thanskgiving with ice cream.

Easy Mini Quiche

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2008
I agree that this is a good basic recipe. I would highly suggest to add any of your favs to add some flavor. Bacon, shrooms, asparagus, anything that you have on hand. Fill the cups completely. It will puff up and once removed from oven, they will settle down some. I too got 2 rounds of bread from one slice. I used a small drinking glass to cut my rounds. Spray Pam generously, run a sharp knife around edges and should be easily removed from the pan. I had to add a few more minutes to the baking time. You want to make sure that they won't be soggy. Use you imagination, you can't go wrong.
