About this Cook
Mom, wife, sister, daughter, and friend. A reformed control freak, who doesn't believe that healthy and tasty are total opposites.
My favorite things to cook
I love simple but elegant looking meals, like fresh veggies tossed with pastas, grilled chicken breasts that are anything but dry and boring.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We grill a lot b/c it's so much better for you, including fruits and veggies. We do like whole wheat pastas, with homemade sauces. When the family says they'd rather stay home b/c what we cook tastes better, is fresher, and costs less than going out. When the kids call from college and ask whats on the menu so they can plan to be home when their favorite meals are cooked.
My cooking triumphs
When my daughter came home from a popular Italian resturant and said mine was much better. When my two oldest said they wanted my reciepes in books of their own for graduation presents.
My cooking tragedies
I put some baby backed ribs on the grill one sunny afternoon, sat down in a sunbeam and fell asleep..... The grilled potatoes weren't done, the ribs were burnt to a crisp, and the company woke me up with the doorbell.

Jamaican Beef Patties
It was good, the flavors were too strong for my family, so I think I'll adjust them to something more traditional. Loved the crust and the pick it up without it falling apart. I think you could stuff it with just about anything and it would be a nice snack.

Grill Dough
Love this stuff! Great with slices of tomato, basil and a little olive oil. Or make smaller rounds and let every one make their own.
