Cranberry Dip

This was actually pretty good. I did cut the sugar by half, and it was still sweet enough, but tart also. My husband put some on a piece of cheesecake and said it was yummy.

Bordelaise Sauce with Mushrooms

This sauce was delicious. Very unlike the bordelaise I had as a child but yummy nonetheless. I made it with pork tenderloin, which I cut into medallions and seared first. Out of this world.

Shrimp and Quinoa

Like everyone else, we are trying to eat healthier. I followed this recipe exactly, and it was okay, but seemed to be missing something. My husband and I liked it, and added a dash of tamari sauce at the table. I will make it again, but jazz it up with more asparagus, and maybe some garlic or red pepper flakes as suggested by others.

Farfalle Special

This was delicious. But anything with bacon and blue cheese has to be yummy. I did use a small can of petite cut tomatoes instead of tomato sauce because it was what I had on hand. Also had some shitake mushrooms, along with the button ones. I agree with another reviewer, that 18 oz of pasta is way too much, and I used probably 10 oz, not quite a whole box. Leftovers were delicious.

Slow Cooker Venison Stroganoff

This was very good except for one thing. I used the whole wheat noodles, and added them to the crockpot for 30 minutes. They were gross, and turned to mush. Next time, I will just boil the egg noodles separately. The flavor was good, but I was extremely disappointed in the noodles.

Nannie's Hot Milk Sponge Cake

I am rewriting this review, because I've made this recipe again, in round cake pans, and it was fabulous. As mentioned, I did butter and flour the pans, but also cut the layers to add raspberry jam and whipped cream. When I sliced it I used a bread knife because it is rather delicate. Everyone went crazy for it.

Rosemary Lemon Grilled Chicken

Actually tripled this recipe for dinner for guests...they like being my guinea pigs when I try new recipes. They all loved this. I also took the advise of others and used half olive oil, half butter. I also marinated it for about 6 hours. It was excellent. I will certainly make this again.
