Chewy Choco-Chip Cookies
About this Cook
I am a stay at mom to three wonderful kids. Cooking to me, is like getting to the heart of my family! There is nothing better than to have my family around the kitchen table all "digging in" to a homecooked meal laughing and talking about their day.
My favorite things to cook
I love Easy, but still tasty meals that everyone will eat. Crock Pot recipes rank high in my house! But what I enjoy most is Baking! The month of December is like cookie central. I even have the mail man and garbage man knocking on my door for more cookies!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Again, it has to be baking cookies for the holidays! I just love quiet (well not really quiet with 3 kids, but i like to dream)Saturday afternoons with Christmas music playing, the tree lit, and spending the whole day baking all our favorite cookies with the kids! yumm..
My cooking triumphs
They are when I prepare a new recipe, and everyone, including my husband, all gobble it up!
My cooking tragedies
Thinking that i had become a great baker, my dad was away at school, and i decided to make him cookies. Somewhere along the way, something went wrong. the cookies kept spreading all over the cookie sheet.I thought maybe when they cool, the will form together. Meanwhile, Dad had told everyone about these great cookies that were coming! Everyone gathered around the box of "homecooking" and there they had it! A box of oatmeal crumble! They ended up putting it in bowls and adding milk! To this day, I still can't make an oatmeal cookie!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread
This was fast and easy!! I was able to make 2 good size loaves and 48 mini-muffins for a bake sale!

Aaahh! Potato Soup
I did alter this quite a bit, but was a HUGE hit! I used baked red potatoes, sauted bacon/onion in the saucepan first, added rest & simmered for over an hour and then added a can of evaporated milk and 8oz of sharp cheddar. This will for sure be a new family menu item :O)

Sloppy Joes II
I added BBQ sauce and chopped up a bit more green pepper. I served on seeded potato rolls and DINNER WAS A HIT! Even my picky eaters ate it! I will make this again for sure :O)
