My family serves as missionaries in Senegal, West Africa. Two of our kids were born here and this is HOME to us all! I love to cook family dishes and desserts that are homey and comforting. But I also LOVE to try new things and usually do so when we are having guests. homemade bread; homemade strawberry, blueberry, squashberry, red current and rhubarb jams; banana breads and tea biscuits, good basic home cooking! finding recipes for special dishes we have eaten in restaurants and having them turn out just right! well, there were this "wood cookies" my kids say I made one time...and I am getting famous for "mom's surprise" suppers which are usually good, just un-nameable!
