Spinach-Cheese Swirls

Not bad, but kind of blah. Great idea, though, and worth experimenting with.

Spooky Witches Fingers

The flavor of these is so-so, but the great look makes up for it. I used jam on the nail and base of the finger (instead of gel) to make them look severed. The effect was great!

Excellent! Next time, I might add an extra slice of bacon or two... thanks for a great new potato salad recipe!

Wake-Up Casserole

We enjoyed this. A little salty--will cut the salt next time as the ham made it plenty salty on it's own.

Green Chile Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2011
Very tasty! I chopped and sauteed a 6 oz package of fresh spinach with some onion instead of the frozen spinach. I cut the recipe in half and used only four eggs as I was using just one, smallish pie shell.

Slow Cooker Swiss Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2011
I was eager to try this recipe to use up a round steak I had in the freezer. It was certainly edible but "blah," and the meat stayed very tough even after 9 hours. It's too bad because I really wanted to like it!

Eggnog Thumbprints

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
These were great and everyone raved about them. I piped the frosting into the thumbprints to make a pretty presentation on the plates we gave away for Christmas.

Slow Cooker Reuben Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2010
Yum, and easy to make! I doubled the Thousand Island as suggested by others. Used pastrami instead of corned beef because that is what I had on hand, and it turned out great.

Mizithra Browned Butter Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2010
My yiayia used to make this Greek "macaronia" all the time! It's a favorite family stand-by. Grated parmesan works okay if you can't find mizithra. The secret lies in browning the butter well.

Pepperoncini Beef

This came out perfect! We spread our rolls with mayo and provolone and then broiled for a few minutes before adding the beef. Yum! My husband added horseradish for an extra kick.

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2010
Yum! This turned out terrific. I used "medium" heat wing sauce so that it wasn't too hot fo everyone. (My husband would have been happier with more heat.) Blue cheese dressing drizzled on top of the meat was the perfect touch.

Lemon/Raspberry Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2010
Yum! I forgot to buy yogurt and only had half cup sour cream on hand--added a little milk and lemon juice to make it a full cup, and added an extra tsp. of lemon peel as others mentioned the lemon flavor didn't come through. I loved that this recipe didn't use cinnamon like so many others because I think it overpowers the berry flavor...

Chili Rellenos Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2010
This was tasty although I can't imagine how it would turn out if using the pan size specified in the recipe. I used an 8x8 dish and enchilada sauce as others suggested. Wish I had added an extra egg, too--it just wasn't enough for our family dinner. I recommend doubling it if you are planning to use it as the main dish.

Quiche Lorraine I

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2010
Yum! I used 1 cup half and half instead of 1-1/2 cups milk and it did not overflow in my regular pie dish. Not sure why some people are complaining about the recipe not having greens--I have never had a Quiche Lorraine with greens.

Joelle's Famous Hot Crab and Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
This was delicious, although I realized after the party that I forgot to add the mayo! I did add a little extra horseradish for more zip and used one 15 oz can of crab clawmeat (from the refrigerated aisle of the store) instead of the small cans of lump meat.

Easy BBQ Flank Steak with Chipotle Mayo

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2009
This was fantastic! The chipotle mayo was a wonderful complement to the marinade. We will definitely make this again. The only negative is that the recipe made for way too much of the mayo and we have tons leftover.

Mary's Roasted Red Pepper Dip

I made this recipe as is and received tons of compliments at a recent party. I'll definitely be making it again and might try some other raters' suggestions such as using some pepper jack cheese or adding some hot sauce. Thanks for a great dip!
