About this Cook
I am 41 years old with two baby boys and a wonderful, caring and supportive husband. Life is good! :^)
My favorite things to cook
Fried chicken. Pear tart. Bread.
My cooking tragedies
The first meal I cooked for my husband (then boyfriend and vegetarian) was a disaster. I made butternut squash ravioli in a brown butter/pecan cream sauce, which I had made many times before and had always turned out well. I was nervous and rushed the assembly causing the pasta "walls" of the ravioli not to adhere properly. Then I overcooked them. Of course, they came apart and I had to serve him a big pile of goo. Oh well. He married me anyway. :^)

Guacamole
This is a good guacamole recipe but only became worth five stars after I added some chili powder. Probably really only the needed the cumin component of the chili powder but the only cumin I had on hand was whole and I was too lazy to toast and grind it.

Pie Crust IV
I was never able to consistently make a good pie crust until now. Great recipe. I seem to always use 1/4 cup ice water, if that helps. The only time this recipe didn't work was when I dumped in the entire 1/2 cup.
