About this Cook
I am a mom to an active teenager, work full time outside of the home, and own a home-based bakery. So, I always looking for delicious, quick and easy meals. I love this site and have used many recipes for many meals and parties.
My favorite things to cook
Because of my busy schedule, the crockpot has become my best friend for dinner. I love making my husband's favorite - pork roast with sauerkraut in my crockpot.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love spending Sundays with my family, my sister's family and my parents enjoying a good Korean meal. My mom is Korean and the food is awesome. My husband and brother-in-law are now hooked on Korean food.
My cooking triumphs
I have created a "signature" buttercream recipe for my cakes that is hit with my family and customers. I am very proud of it!
My cooking tragedies
I have had my ups and downs, but my "tragedy" just happend. The Vice President of our department hosted a Christmas party at her house this year. We were all to bring a dish. I thought I would try something new. I tried a crab dip from this site. It never did set well and was runny, but my husband, son and co-worker said it was good so I decided to serve it. I had 2/3rds of it left and people were polite, but it didn't go well at all. I was very disappointed. It was also a pricey waste of good ingredients.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast
This was wonderful. I have not had good luck with pot roast and this recipe was perfect. I did sear the meat first, it does make a big difference. I then add parsnips, carrots, baby new potatoes, and pearl onions on top of the beef in the crockpot. Pour the sauce mix over top and cook away. For the sauce I use the cream of mushroom soup, onion soup mix, and a can of beef broth. I add a spoonful of flour to the sauce after removing the veggies and meat to make a delicious gravy.

Mashed Sweet Potatoes
I had a catered dinner at work and there was quite a bit of baked sweet potatoes left, so I wanted to see what could be done with them. I came across this recipe and thought I would give it a try. The only changes I made was that I only needed 1/3 cup of milk and used sugar-free syrup (we are all watching our weights). It was a hit. My family loved it and this will definitely be a side dish I will make often. Thanks for a wonderful recipe!

Lemon Garlic Tilapia
This was absolutely delicious and a hit with my family. The only changes I made to is was added another garlic clove and substituted olive oil for butter. I then sauteed the garlic, lemon juice, and parsley flakes in the olive oil first a bit to cook the garlic some what and infuse the flavors better. I then poured that over the fish. It actually only took about 20 minutes to bake, so I would watch the fish after 15 minutes or so instead of 30 minutes. Thanks for the recipe.
