Disappointing and not what I was expecting. Good flavor which is why it's still 3 stars in my book. I followed another review and did this in my slow cooker for 3 hours on high so it would be really tender.

Best Toffee Ever - Super Easy

Buttery Soft Pretzels

SOOOOO worth the effort! My first pretzel-making foray was a success. I just ate one right out of the oven and even though I probably should have left it in for another minute, it's divine! Didn't change hardly a thing except multiplied the recipe by 1.5 and got 14 good sized pretzels. I did use a little less flour since other reviews said it was dry and brushed them with melted butter just cuz I like it that way.

Slow Cooker Homemade Beans

These were fantastic for 4th of July! However I am giving them only 4 stars because I added Worchestshire sauce and BBQ sauce because what are beans without it! But super good recipe! Making it again for Labor Day!

Tomatillo Salsa Verde

Delicious! Served with Hint of Lime tortilla chips and it was even better. Which means I will probably add just a little lime juice next time if I serve it with regular tortilla chips to give it more zing!

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Now the most popular dish I make for parties but I do make it differently. I do 1/2 mayo, 1/2 sour cream, use diced nacho jalapenos and use Mexican blend shredded cheese, not Parmesan.

Zucchini Boats on the Grill

So I just read the recipe and realized I made more changes than I thought (because I forgot to add the basil, salt, and pepper) so maybe 5 stars isn't fair to the original recipe. But these are super yummy. I substituted red pepper flakes to taste for the jalapeno because I was lazy and didn't feel like cutting it up and fried up 2 pieces of bacon and crumbled them instead of bacon bits. Also cooked them in a toaster oven instead of on the grill. But I cannot wait to do these on the grill. Definitely making them again.

Chicken In Basil Cream

Very nice! The sauce was yummy! I used olives stuffed with pimentos because I couldn't find pimentos by themselves. Served over fettucine.

Slow Cooker Thai Pork with Peppers

Wow! So good! I will be making this again for sure! My bell peppers went bad in the heat we were having before I made this so I made it without. And I used crunchy peanut butter vs. creamy because it's all I had. This was fabulous!!!

Thai Cucumber Salad

Pretty good. At first bite, I was unsure but the more bites I took, the more I liked it. I only put 1 jalapeno in because my family doesn't like spicy but I think I could have done both and been ok.

Coconut Cake III

WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW! My new favorite cake. I added 2 tsp coconut extract to the cake batter and left out the walnuts. Do not just toast the coconut in the oven. Browning it in the butter makes a difference. This is worth 20 stars!

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

I'm not a huge pumpkin pie or cheesecake person but I will eat this. And this is the recipe my sister requests EVERY thanksgiving and Christmas. Perfect the way it is although I did make it once with a little more pumpkin in it.

Pumpkin Pancakes

Delicious!! Made them as is except I added a teaspoon of vanilla and about 1/4 cup more pumpkin because some of the reviews said they didn't taste much pumpkin.

Cinnamon Ice Cream

This is amazing. I didn't think I would like it that much because cinnamon ice cream didn't sound appealing. But I trusted the great reviews and now I'm convinced. I served this over peach cobbler and tonight I'll be serving it over strawberry rhubarb pie.
