About this Cook
Hey! I love trying new recipes even if my family grumbles! I learned to cook as a 10 year 4-H member many years ago. I especially enjoy baking, and using at least one of my crock pots. I have a husband, three daughters, two puppies, a cat, and love photography and scrapbooking too.
My favorite things to cook
Everyone seems to enjoy my pumpkin bread and crispy peanut squares the most. I really love cooking soups in my crock pot. Grilling steaks I admit I have to leave to my husband!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Actually, my sister is Lucky Noodle....she has the bigger cooks hat, or apron, when it comes to the big events when everyone is gathered together. My girls are so busy we tend to eat on the run a lot so lately I'm been trying to cook a lot of foods that can be re-heated, or "finished off" easily.
My cooking triumphs
Once upon a time I earned a lot of blue ribbons in 4-H! My peanut squares are a huge hit with the high school crowd, so much so that I made enough for a bus load of band/choir kids and when the bus turned a tight corner and lots of things went flying, I'm told the peanut squares were high on the priority list of items to save from falling!
My cooking tragedies
Oddly, grilling outside. It's the opposite of the green thumb..with plants and flowers I'm terrific outside, and kill any plants I try to grow in the house. But, for some weird reason...Grilling.....it's not a pretty picture!

Orange Marmalade Sweet Rolls
I had trouble with the dough...out of practice! Couldn't get dough thin enough to stay together. Good flavor!

Strawberry Bruschetta
Just felt it needed something to "sit"in on the toast. Maybe a sweetened cream cheese or jam. Not bad, simple for sure. Or, maybe drizzle a glaze on top?
