About this Cook
I love this site!
My favorite things to cook
I just love trying new things, thank you everyone for all the great recipies posted here. I recommend this site all the time!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandfathers home made turtle stew... Only edible if you dont see him clean the turtle. Great memories of using turtle shells as snowman hats.
My cooking triumphs
No longer using animal remains for holiday-seasonal decorations.
My cooking tragedies
*Anything that ends in "helper" or "aroni" is a cooking tragedy. (I avoid that as much as possible though--never use the "helper" varieties of faster food.) * Once accidently grabbed pepper instead of cinnamon for cookies. UGH!

Tastira (Tunisian Fried Peppers and Eggs)
This was very simple and filling. I had thought to alter the recipe and add fried diced potatoes but used the submitters suggestion of serving with a crusty bread instead. Very good, but I think I would like to try it with potatoes as well. Thanks!

Orange Herb Roasted Chicken
I have baked whole chickens before, but this was the best I have ever made. Differences: It took a little over 2 hours to bake, added marjoram, minced all herbs and placed under skin and in cavity. Really great! I usually stuff birds with a heavy combo of bread, egg, dried cherries, and turkey sausage but this was very light and made the chicken very moist. I will do this again, thank you.

Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins
Great recipe. I followed others suggestions and used half the oil and added applesauce. I also substituted sour cream for the yogurt. I did not have chocolate chips, so I chopped 4 oz. of bittersweet chocolate with another 2 oz. of white chocolate. I also added some minced dried cherries and chopped pecans. Delicious!
