About this Cook
I am a stay @ home mother of 3(all 5 and under), wife to an amazingly loving husband. I went to culinary school for 2 yrs and learned ALOT there and have just been applying what I learned to what I cook, etc. now. My family, friends, neighbors are all my test tasters and not one has ran away yet ;o) hehe
My favorite things to cook
what pleases my family, whether it be tastefully major healthy or artery-cloggingly good. I love to serve my family a life filled with great food
My favorite family cooking traditions
hmmm well there is always the treats I send out around the fall/winter (shipping baked goods, esp. truffles while it is cold out is the best time!). during the dreary time of the cold season a package full of homemade goodies always puts a smile on one faces
My cooking triumphs
learning to cook n no longer being picky! those are very general but that is where a new door really opened for me.
My cooking tragedies
well, when you have cooked as much as I have you only begin to win many after you have lost several as well! Learn from your mistakes and improve on where you excel :o)

Chicken Satay
VERY GOOD base to work from. Soaked the chicken in lime/soy/garlic mixture then made the sauce (items from original recipe plus a T of fish sauce and sub'd green curry paste for the curry) seperate for dipping when finished. Soaked the skewers in soy sauce/warm water combo to add just a touch more flavor. Served w/ rice and veggie stir-fry to complete meal. I know some people can't stand when someone comes in a totally alters the recipe but hey I am known to be an alterer ;o) Thank you for the recipe. :o)

West Coast Cod and Shrimp
nice, very nice! we added a can of cream of mushroom and 2t of red pepper flakes (also salt & peppered the fish before topping with sauce). Not much changed but tasted wonderful and we didnt find it to be watery at all and full of flavor (we, of course, like dill ;oD ) thank you for the recipe!

Turkey a la King
a la king has always been a good comfort stand by meal in my family since I was a kid. traditionally we use green pepper, shallots, mushrooms and about 1/2C cream sherry to the sauce but no peas. thank for the recipe great base to work from. :o)
