About this Cook
I have been happily married for almost 10 years now and have 4 beautiful children, ranging in age from 6 years old, to 10 months. I am privledged to stay at home and enjoy making all our meals as well as baking often...that's my favorite.
My favorite things to cook
I love to try new, recipes. Now that I have 4 kids, my crock pot and things I can prepare early in the day are the meal of choice...I like to be able to prepare our meals and then have it all cleaned up so we can enjoy our evenings rather then have my husband or I stand at the sink all night, cleaning up! My favorite thing in the kitchen is baking...cookies, cake, any kind of sweet is my forte and you will always find some dessert when you come to visit.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We always looked forward to my Grandmothers special cut out cookies when we visited in New York. Now,my sister and I bake her secret recipe, along with about 15 other types of cookies, at Christmas. They are requested by all our friends and something we love to do together. I try and bake one new recipe each year, but the cut outs, intricately decorated are what I'm known for!
My cooking triumphs
I've had a few triumphs...probably mastering my Grandmothers cookie recipe was one, and the other being when I made my Italian Mother in laws meatballs and sauce...I haven't mastered it yet, but I have enjoyed trying!
My cooking tragedies
Along with another cook, whose profile I read, my biggest tragedy was a Martha Stewart cake...used a TON of ingrediants and was a TOTAL flop! Thank goodness for this site where I can read the tips of other wonderful cooks who have made the recipe before me to keep me from another mistake like that Martha cake!

Chicken Breasts in Caper Cream Sauce
Oh-my-goodness! This is SO good...really, it sounds simple, and it is...but the taste is so rich and flavorful! My only change was that I deglazed the pan with a splash of white wine before adding the cream for the sauce, AND, I doubled the sauce...good thing cause it's delish!!! This is a keeper, keeper, keeper! I'm going to try it with Salmon...I"m sure it'll be great!

Crab Quiche
WOW! This was sooo good and SUPER fast...great for a quick dinner! I did make a couple changes...no pie crust (low carbs here), used swiss cheese, and 5 eggs, not 4...using heavy cream was yummy but WAY rich, so I would suggest using half and half or vitamin D milk instead! My one year old LOVED it, so it is definitely a keeper!!

Marinade for Chicken
Delicious, juicy and tender chicken! Makes a large amount, which was great, and easily marinaded 6 large chicken breasts! I marinated the chicken for about 4 hours, and it had plenty of flavor, so I'm done looking...this was great and so easy!
