Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
Also, like another reviewer said, the strawberries should be dried off with paper towels before dipping. I had made chocolate frosting and had leftover in the freezer, which i heated in the microwave, hulled & washed berries, dried them then dipped in the chocolate frosting and set to dry, came out great.

Angel Lush

I wanted to make my own cake for mothers day and my oven isnt working. I bought a fresh pineapple and finely chopped it on my cuttingboard that has a resevoir for juice. I used about 3 qtrs of the pineapple, a whole 8 oz tub of coolwhip & my instant pudding was 5.1 oz (?) I added just a touch of lime juice and a pinch of sugar to be similar to canned pineapple. I used an electric knife to slice the cake across to make 3 layers. I piled the filling high on the top and had enough leftover to go around the outside of the whole cake -pretty, easy, and delicious!

Hudson's Baked Tilapia with Dill Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
I had to rate this before it even finished cooking because i had something similar at Red Lobster, and it was awesome (and 3x the price i could make it for!)I added our own dehydrated garlic powder to the fish and a half stick of butter before cooking. the garlic in the fish will complement the garlic in the sauce. The sauce is suprisingly different. Thank you!

Sweet Potato Apple Scallop

This was delicious. I added extra apples, and some applesauce, and a little extra cinnamon, and baked it in my crockpot so i would have room in the oven for my stuffing. it works great in the crockpot too!

Pear Pie III

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2007
very delicious taste, but a little too much liquid in my pie. I used canned pears, so i could use as much as the pie could hold, and i drained them -the canned pears held up nicely. I would definitely make this again

Chocolate Cornstarch Pudding

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2007
i cooked it and stirred constantly, it did get thick - slightly too thick and although i stirred the cocoa powder first to get the clumps out, my pudding still had lumps in it. i even slightly reduced the cornstarch Basically a good recipe, but i prefer it to be a little smoother.

Creamy Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2006
This is perfect..except for the amount of time needed to stir & thicken sauce (on medium heat)it took me 30 minutes of constant stirring, which is the right way to do it if you want to avoid graininess. I only had one can of evap. milk,so i just refilled the can (to measure)with 2% milk. I didnt have dijon, and liked it better anyway with dry mustard. I added the salt & pepper periodically, and think i used less than a tablespoon of salt.I didn't want the sauce too thick, so i added the rest of the 14 oz can of chicken broth i opened.I also added just a dash of tumeric(its yellow & good for you). This recipe is a keeper, thanks!

Absolutely Best Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2006
I have been looking for this cocoa brownie recipe for a long time-I used to make these from a recipe on the can, but havent found one since. My friend with 3 children wanted a good recipe that's easy like this, and she started making them for her kids. The recipe i had used regular flour, so i was so excited to make these (i dont use self-rising)i forgot to add baking powder til i put them in the pan--i added it anyway and stirred in the pan. So,that was my fault, but i'm sure they'll come out great-i just peeked in the oven & they look good!

Bread Pudding I

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2006
i found The bread pudding recipe- you don't mess with something like this. (the only thing i changed was 5 eggs instead of six, & i didnt have nutmeg, so i put the tiniest amount of ground cloves on top, and i added almond extract to the egg mixture.) I had a small amount of toffee bits,& threw them in too. I made the brown sugar sauce by brenda moore from this website, and voila! Good enough for special guests, but you'll want to keep it for yourself.

Brown Sugar Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2006
This sauce has the perfect consistency for bread pudding, and even tho i forgot to add the vanilla, it had a delicious caramel taste! I did have to cook & stir much longer than five minutes, but it takes time to make a great sauce!
