This was a wonderful soup. I cut the recipe in half, added a can of drained black beans and 2 tsp of cumin. I also used chopped onions in place of the onion/pepper stir fry mix. I would make again...mmmm...mmmm.

Poppy Seed Bundt Cake III

It turned out beautifully, very moist. I used one of those powdered sugar glazes and added almond extract to that as well. Next time I would add more almond extract to the cake.

Oatmeal Whole Wheat Quick Bread

This is a very good, basic bread. I added cinnamon and nutmeg, but I still thought it needed something to sweeten it up a little. Next time I am going to add raisins or chocolate chips.

Rich Chocolate Chip Toffee Bars

Black Bean and Couscous Salad

This was excellent. I used 2 cups cooked brown rice instead of couscous. I used the entire bunch of cilantro. I used 1 can black beans and 1 can kidney beans. I used an orange pepper rather than red for more color. Several people asked for the recipe and I would def make it again!

Thai Curry Tofu

This was very good. I used firm tofu instead of extra firm and had some issues frying it, next time I will try to buy the right kind. Also I didn't have fresh cilantro so I used 2tsp dried. And I took the advice about using less salt, I did not add any of the seasoned salt.

Amaretto Cake

I turned the recipe into cupcakes, which was not a good idea. It took way more time and energy than a cake would have taken. They were still very good, but next time I will stick with a bundt cake pan.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

The cookies had an excellent flavor. I used 3 tsp pumpkin pie spice instead of the other spices. I also added cinnamon to the icing (as was recommended by other members), which was a great addition. However, keep them in an airtight container if you live in a humid area, because they got too soft very quickly.

Easy Clotted Cream

It was a great complement to the scones that I served at a tea. Make the day of and keep in the fridge until needed, because it starts to get funny pretty quickly.

Lisa's Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake

I made this for my friend's birthday party. I made my own peanut butter frosting and it tasted like a Reese's. It was very rich, but some how everyone managed to finish their generous portions. And even my baking friends could not tell it was from a box mix!

Grandma Johnson's Scones

These turned out perfectly. I followed the suggestions to add 1/2tsp nutmeg, 1tsp cinnamon, and 1tsp vanilla. I made half with raisins and half with chopped pecans. I served them with clotted cream. They were very popular!

Spinach Lasagna III

This is a great recipe. I made it for a group a friends and everyone loved it. I added about 2x more spinach then the recipe said. Also I did not boil the noodles first and they turned out fine.
