About this Cook
I am a mother of 2 teenagers. I love to cook and bake for my husband and children. And I love to entertain guests! Cooking for people makes me smile, watching them enjoy my food makes me even happier!
My favorite things to cook
I love to try new dishes, but I also love my tried, tested and true recipes that have been passed down through the generations in my family. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love preparing family recipes for my children that my mother prepared for us. It's clear that the love going into such a meal is what makes it truly amazing.
My cooking triumphs
My greatest triumph is watching the looks of delight on my family's faces when the come home to one of the favorite meals.
My cooking tragedies
LOL, most memorable is the fact that until recently, I have never been able to master cooking plain white rice, LOL. Hubby bought me a steamer to make it easier on me, LOL... But, now I have mastered the art of rice, LOL...only took me 10 years!

Amish Friendship Bread Starter
So happy that I found this! A friend of mine years ago gave me a started and the kids loved it. I lost the recipe, the kids will be so excited that I found it again. There are so many ways that you can vary the recipe to make breads.

Buttercream Icing
I followed another reviewers suggestion of using all butter and cut the icing sugar down to 3 cups. I also doubled the milk and vanilla. Very nice taste!

Jam Filled Buns
I just pulled my first batch of these ourt of the oven and my kids simply love them. I used apricot jam instead of raspberry. Definitely a tasty treat. And so simple to make.
