This recipe was definitely the highlight of my Thanksgiving. Anyone who has read my other reviews can probably guess--I used it for my first ever Thanksgiving, which happened to be in the UK with my British friends. We made this sauce the day before and it infused the house with an incredible smell all day long... really put us in a cooking mood. I have never tasted a cranberry sauce with such a perfect combination of flavours. It's easy to make and even easier to make an impression with (I know that sounds cheesy, but it's hard not to in these reviews). I will definitely make this sauce again.

Great pie, especially for a first timer. I live in the UK and used this for my first Thanksgiving..it was a great way to introduce my British friends to the holiday. Very nutty--also very rich but not as overwhelming as some pecan pies. It did take almost twice the given baking time, but I just left it in till the knife came clean as she said and it was fine.

This is one of the best sweet potato casseroles I've ever had, with a few minor modifications. There is WAY too much sugar as the recipe is written. I halved the sugar and cut back on the brown sugar, and it was still *plenty* sweet. I was serving it for a first Thanksgiving in the UK, and at first each person only took about a spoonful to be polite (British people never mix 'sweet' and 'savoury' items like sugar/marshmallows and sweet potato) but by the end the whole dish had disappeared. I also put marshmallows on top instead of mixed in, to add that classic American touch.
