About this Cook
I grew up in the northern midwest. My family and I made Rapid City our home after my husband and I retired from the Air Force. I have always enjoyed baking and cooking, to me it is so relaxing to be in the kitchen creating the dishes.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to bake are desserts, breakfast dishes, breads, cakes and cookies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I make traditional German cookies and Kuchen. I also have a variety of English scone recipies that I make.

Sesame Noodles
This is a great side dish. I use olive oil instead of safflower oil. I also use 1 teaspoon chili oil instead of chili sauce. I add diced cucumber and cilantro for color and flavor.

Whole Wheat Molasses Flat Bread
A quick flat bread that can be served for breakfast or any other meal. It is great served with applebutter, honey or jam. It is so good when it is right out of the oven

Pumpkin French Toast Bake
I really enjoyed the Frech toast bake, however, an entire loaf of Texas thick-sliced bread is not needed! In step 3 of the directions it states, " Arrange the bread cubes in a single layer", so only a few slices of bread needed to be cubed. I had cubed up the entire loaf since that is what is listed in the ingredient listing. Also, I would suggest lining the cake pan with foil and geasing the foil, so clean-up of the pan is easier. As another review suggested, mix the ingredients in a bowl and then pour the mixture over the bread cubes.
