Sweet and Sour Meatballs IV

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2001
My husband is not a huge fan of sweet and sour, but he loved this. It's a nice mild, beefier sweet/sour that is just wonderful. Turned out just perfect over brown rice. Thanks!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2001
I didn't have enough sour cream for some recipes, no cream cheese, But I had 5 large, Very ripe bananas and hated to throw them out. Saw this recipe, and had it put together and done, along with dinner in the oven. I might still make those other banana cread recipes for friends who like cakey bread, but This moist recipe is the one my husband and I are sticking with. No improvement necessary. Thanks!

Awesome recipe, just the way carrot cake should taste. Moist, light and wholesome, with a wonderfully sweet cream cheese frosting. Perfect, thanks!

I used a smaller pan for the thicker results and this was just the Best crisp! Plenty of apples, and plenty of thick crunchy crust as well! My husband says this is a keeper.

Caramelized Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2001
Easy and wonderful recipe. I've cooked them many times since last May, foil on the bottom makes the cleanup a breeze. Also I experimented and cut down my soy sauce and spread pieces into two pans for about 15 minutes more to achieve carmelization. Really great stuff!

Good recipe. I did use less potatoes and no salt, and was glad of it. Will definitely use this again, but its a very rich meal! Thanks

Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2001
The crumbs Are a great alternative to flour! We love this recipe so much I experimented with the idea of it. I cut the breasts in strips, and slowly pan fried them in the butter and then used the remains to make a gravy, and served that and the chicken over rice. It was fantastic!

First time I've ever made a pie crust. Was simple and easy. Next time I'll cut the salt amount in half though. Great recipe, will use it always! Thanks!

Fish in Foil

I used green peppers and green onions instead of the jalepeno, but it was excellent. Fish was tender, no fuss, no muss. Foil rules!

Chicken Breasts Pierre

Reviewed: May 28, 2001
This is a fantastic recipe. Like most I altered it slightly for our personal tastes, but this gave me the perfect base. I used a can of diced tomatoes undrained, used a red wine instead of water, balsamic vinegar instead of white and added fresh mushrooms. My hubby has always been suspicious of chicken recipes with "tomato" stuff, but he actually went back for more sauce to go with his chicken this time! Next time I think I'll make it two cans of diced tomatoes! ;) Thanks for a great idea.

Green Bell Peppers stuffed with Tomato Lentil Couscous

Reviewed: May 28, 2001
Just to be a bit more clear, the top five green peppers are not chopped, they are halved, gutted and cleaned. The two jars of spaghetti sauce are: 28oz is Ragu green pepper and mushroom sauce, and the 16oz is Hunt's Special Ready sauce. I save about a quarter of the sauce without the cous cous and spoon it around the peppers. Like I said, its a very meaty meal! ;)

Brandied Candied Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2001
This is the fastest, easiest dish. And perfectly elegant. Our bottle of brandy sat around doing nothing forever, as we don't really drink that much. After trying it in this recipe, my hubby refuses to have sweet potatoes any other way! Served with green beans and baked ham and biscuits, this has to be one of his all time favorites meals. Thanks for the idea!

Lemon Mushroom Herb Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2001
Lemon adds just the most delightful aromatic to this recipe. Yet very light flavor to the sauce, addictive my husband said! ;) I added a can of Veg-All and some fresh mushrooms, used Healthy Choice cream of mushroom, and served over brown rice. Not only was it fast, easy and tastes awesome, it was a nice healthy dinner. Normally cream sauces are a killer for the diet. Thanks so much, we'll be eating this often.

We are crazy about mushrooms, and with bacon they delightful and a perfect accompaniment to the honey-mustard sauce. I used uncooked clover honey, and spicy brown mustard along with the mayo, and it was a real knockout. Yum!!

Easy Chocolate Chip Pound Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2000
I used this recipe as a base to make a couple types, and am thinking up more! The first was devil's food cake mix with vanilla pudding mix and Kahlua instead of water, dark chocolate chips and fudge icing. So decadent I had to stop them from fighting over the last piece. The second was french vanilla cake mix, white chocolate pudding mix, Advockaat (egg cream liquer), and white chocolate chips, french vanilla icing. (We decorated it with red and green for x-mas) There isn't any left, so I think I am going to have to think up another. ;-) Thank you so much for such a wonderful base recipe! ps My daughter Tricia, whom we call T, said: "of course its good, its from T's mom!" lol
