About this Cook
I am a Mom of two delightful little boys and wife to a dandy hubby :) I have been cooking since second grade and love it. Baking not so much. I am a teacher of exceptional needs at the high school level. I also love glssblowing, making jewelry, and sewing. I unfortunately have very little time for these things but when I have a chance I do them.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook food that makes my family happy which is normally things such as pot roast, lasagna, meatloaf, - home cooking type items. However in our little circle of the world I am known for my stuffed mushrooms - they are delicious!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I think it would be talking with my Mom about how to cook stuff and learning how she made my favorite dishes as a child. I love passing that history along.
My cooking triumphs
My stuffed mushroom recipe is a big triumph. I was also extremely proud when I made my husbands Wild Turkeys and no one could believe they were wild because they were so moist and and tender.
My cooking tragedies
All too often when I try a new recipe I flub it up royally. I hate that - irritates me to no end. Or when I did perfect a recipe and I make it for friends and that is the night I get distracted by the kids and it burns.....now that is just ....UGHHHH :(

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup
Great recipe :) I made it with out the rue or milk and it turned out fantastic. I simply added more stock in place of the milk. Less calories and equally delicious. Was a wonderful way to use up leftover ham from the holidays.

Baked Pork Chops I
My husband and family friend stated these were the best pork chops I ever made and that they ever tasted - quite the compliment to the recipe! I used a Tastefully Simple Bistro Portabella soup mix (mixed with 3 cups water and one cup of sourcream) instead of the golden mushroom soup. I also took plain bread crumbs and seasoned them myself with basil, parsley, garlic, onion, pepper, and a dash of salt. I served them aside mashed potatoes. The pork chops were so tender we could cut them with a fork. After reading some reviews I did lay out a plan for clean up and handling the mess so it was pretty simple and kept to a minimum. I will reccomend this recipe to all my friends and family - fairly simple using basic ingredients and very tasty.

Dutch Beets
Was very quick and easy and my hubby loved them, always a good sign. I may add something more next time I make them - maybe some walnuts.
