Me and my boyfriend (also my cooking buddy! :))
About this Cook
I am 28 and have been cooking as long as I can remember. Grandma use to always give me her extra scraps to create my own masterpiece. Sometimes it was just too bad to eat, but hey that's what learning is all about. Now I have a boyfriend and 2 yr. son to try my cooking on and so far not too many compliants..lol.
My favorite things to cook
I really love to try any recipe that has ingredients that are not too expensive and that I can find at the local grocery store. The best is when I already have in the pantry all I need. With both my boyfriend and I working Full-Time jobs time is a restrint for us so the slow-cooker has become our new best friend.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love cooking for all the holidays. With my grandma getting older and not able to do what she once did I have taken over our holiday dinners and I love it!
My cooking triumphs
Making anything that my friend and family Love and want more of. My most requested..Spaghetti and Meatballs, Baked Ham, Chicken and Homemade Noodles, Pumpkin Roll, Celebration Cake, Roast Beef, ....
My cooking tragedies
Making a Grilled Cheese at 10 that the dog wouldn't even eat!

Slow Cooker Pepper Steak
5++++++. This is absolute the best pepper steak I have ever tasted. So tender! I added the pepper in the beginning for we like the peppers soft. I did add an additional beef cube, and doubled the hot water, cornstarch, and soy sauce. Served with rice.

Sausage Jalapeno Poppers
Very good. Not really what I consider a "popper" though. Think I will make next time and then let cool and then make a coating like a "real" jalapeno popper and fry until golden brown for a nice alternative.

No-Fuss Pumpkin Cake
Very good and extremely moist. Did not use frosting. I think just a dusting of powdered sugar is enough. (But I am not really into frosting) My favorite pumpkin cake recipe so far. May make into Pumpkin Bread the next time. Maybe for that use a drizzle of powdered sugar icing for a nice touch and presentation.
