About this Cook
Married, no kids.I LOVE food. Husband will eat anything as long as its warmed up and put on a plate so, I'm not stuck making meat and taters.
My favorite things to cook
Anything spinach, artichokes, cheese and anything with the words "cream of".
My favorite family cooking traditions
Roasting fresh New Mexico chiles. The whole family participated. Also, just being with my mom in her kitchen while she cooked and baked.
My cooking triumphs
My first souffle came out perfect -recipe from the Good Housekeeping cookbook my mom gave me. Also, my first Hollendaise sauce-Betty Crocker cookbook my mom gave me. Pros are surprised by these successes. I just followed the recipe.
My cooking tragedies
Many and varied. The first turkey I attempted I left the neck and giblets in the bird. I can't bake a loaf of bread to save my life and once when I made red enchilada sauce from scratch, the lid shot off the blender and rained red sauce all over my kitchen. I can go on and on.

Swiss Chicken Casserole I
I took the advice of another reviewer and added more chesse. Ugh!! It was awful. Next time I'll just grate a little jack onto it. I also baked it uncovered and everyone liked the crunch. Will make again. j

Tangy Chicken Fajitas
Very, very good. Will keep in my recipe box. Just wish the veggies were crisper. Be sure to cook on med-hi to reduce liquid quickly.

Monte Cristo Sandwich - the Real One
This IS the monte cristo from the Blue Bayou at Disneyland. I've eaten it many times. Excellent recipe and simple to prepare.
