About this Cook
I am 32 years old. My husband and I have been married for 8 years and have 2 boys. They are all actively involved in sports--hockey in the winter and baseball in the summer. I work from home as a legal assistant and enjoy gardening, cooking and anything to do with food. The Food Network is my favourite channel and I browse AllRecipes on a daily basis!
My favorite things to cook
I have always been a baker but have ventured out of that comfort zone and enjoy cooking all types of food now.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We love traditional Sunday dinner but with a twist. I'll make a nice meal such as a roast or full out turkery dinner. Forget about sitting around a table though--around 4pm we'll put on our comfies, find a place on the couch and eat while watching football:) It's our favourite meal of the week. We also like baking and decorating Christmas cookies and LOVE the whole football feast for Super Bowl. All kinds of tasty food that's really bad for you. I just lay it all out on the table and we have a big buffet pig out. The kids and hubby love it!
My cooking triumphs
I can't take full credit for my cooking triumphs as many of my recipes have come directly from allrecipes. Since joining AR about 6 years ago(I was a very novice cook at that time) there are countless recipes that I now make a regular basis and that the family even requests! Thanks AR :)
My cooking tragedies
Nothing too traumatic. I do tend to get easily distracted and have been known to forget an ingredient or two. Unfortunately, this is only discovered when someone takes their first bite, as was the case when I forgot the sugar in my banana muffins! Surprisingly, they weren't that bad though:)

Rich and Simple French Onion Soup
Great, rich and simple--just like the name of the recipe :)

Garlicky Green Beans with Mushrooms
I loved this dish and will make it all the time now instead of plain old BORING green beans! I steamed the beans and added a little olive oil to the mushrooms. Served at a dinner party and got many compliments. Thanks :)

Garlic Chicken Fried Chicken
good (3.5 stars), nothing extraordinary. I made a gravy to put over the chicken. I'm glad I did because otherwise the chicken would have been too bland for our liking--we like big, bold flavours. Overall a basic recipe that can be easily altered to suit your family's taste.
