I am married with a 2 year old. I have always loved to bake things and I am just finding my groove in cooking. I find it fun trying new things. I try not to make the same thing twice, with a few exceptions of course. My daughter is a very picky eater and so is my husband. I am a stay at home Mom, and I love my role as a wife and mother. I love to be in the kitchen with my daughter teaching her all I know, and playing too!
My favorite things to cook
I love to make pasta's, and stirfry's. I like the 30 minute meals, but do enjoy going all out as well. I'll try anything once! Then I'll make it again if my family will eat it!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas my Mom used to make whipped shortbread, the kind that melts in your mouth. She also used to make all kinds of tarts and candy, and so many other cookies as well. My brother and I used to have contests to see how many tarts we could eat in the shortest time. (He always won!) It just isn't Christmas without all that!
My cooking triumphs
My husband works with an East Indian man, and they go out for East Indian food often. He really likes it. So, I made him a complete East Indian dinner, including naan. It was fun to do, although time consuming, and it was so good! My daughter and I even liked it!
My cooking tragedies
When I was about 10, and my sister was 11, we decided to make our Dad and brother dinner. We made snuggly dogs (hot dogs wrapped in bread dough) and biscuits. They did not work out, they were hard as rocks, it was awful! I still can't make buns or biscuits, and I'm 27 now! I can make bread though, just not buns!
