Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
About this Cook
I'm a newlywed. Need I say more? (No, but I will). I've always been hopeful that one day I will be a good cook.. we don't have too many of those in our family, so it's a long shot. :-) Baking seems to be easier for us, but now that I'm married I want to make sure I can put a good meal on the table.
My favorite things to cook
I love Italian food! My husband has to constantly remind me to try something different because I always lean that way - he says it's because Italian food is easy to cook.. but I'll be the judge of that.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making Apple Pie on Thanksgiving morning, while watching the parade. I made a big stink about that this year, as it was our first Thanksgiving together as a married couple. ..which leads me to my cooking triumph...
My cooking triumphs
Well it's more of a 'baking' triumph - but I made a pretty awesome apple pie, and it was the first pie I've ever made! I was very proud.
My cooking tragedies
Kielbasa in the slow cooker. I don't know what I did wrong, but I came home and the apartment smelled like a foot, and the kielbasa was completely unedible. I love kielbasa but something went very wrong with that recipe...

Oven Fried Chicken II
So easy and so good! Next time I will use less oil or Pam as suggested by others, otherwise it was great! The chicken was so moist and tender. I used half the amount of chicken and it only needed 45 minutes in the oven.

Fried Rice Restaurant Style
Really good and easy to make! I made it along with Teriyaki Chicken from this site.. good meal! I used veggies from a frozen combo bag.. much easier than chopping carrots myself.

Absolutely Fabulous Greek/House Dressing
Wow! Better (and cheaper) than any bottled dressing, for sure. SUPER EASY, I made it in my Magic Bullet. I left out the basil bc I didn't have any, and it was still really good. (but I bet it could use it so I will get it for next time)
